Becky G talks mental health, her ultimate music collab and receives her own day at Spoiled Latina Day!

The sixth annual Spoiled Latina Day was awesome! Literally, amazing! Sorry, not sorry about the exclamation points, I mean how else, will you know how happy I am if I don't use them?!

Spoiled Latina Day is all about empowering women to become whoever they want to be, being prideful, taking self care serious and spreading positivity. It is a day that I created after receiving a proclamation in my honor back in 2015 and my own way of giving back to the city of Houston for the amazing opportunities this city has offered and I took without looking back! The Houston Chronicle did a recap of SLDAY that you should check out... its such a great article that I am beyond grateful for.

Becky G - the global superstar was the Keynote Honoree & Speaker this year. Her wise, words of wisdom were graciously received by the more than 250 women who were in attendance. Click the video below to watch the recap and the entire conversation with Becky G and head over to Spoiled Latina Day to view more pictures!

5 Things You Should Know If You Plan On Dating a Woman About Her Bu$iness

5 Things You Should Know If You Plan On Dating a Woman About Her Bu$iness

As I've grown older, I have also gotten wiser. I am a woman about my business and so are lots of of my girlfriends and many of you reading this today. We work hard and make it happen on our own so when its time for love or dating we don't have time for the games.
If you are about to date a woman or if you are married and your wife has their sh*it together this is what you/men have to know.

  1. She wants you to call her - use the phone and no that doesn't mean texting. She wants to hear your voice, and you should want to hear hers too.
  2. She wants you to make plans - Be the man, and take charge of the "date night" and be specific...this means making plans prior to the "date, trip etc" so that she has time to prepare. Most of the time, we are the ones making decisions all day, it be nice for someone to decide for us for a change.
  3. If you are texting; respond in a timely manner - most people carry their phones 24/7 even to the potty, so their shouldn't be an excuse as to why you don't respond to a "Good Morning" text or "How is your day going?"
  4. She will tell it like it is - so don't expect her to sugar coat how she feels about you or anyone around you. She knows her opinion matters and if you are attempting a life with her, get used to it.
  5. She wants you to say what you're going to do and do it - She isn't a drill sergeant but woman get annoyed with people who say one thing and don't do it or do another. For the love of God, follow through with your word or be gone!

Ladies and gentlemen please chime in on the comments and let me know your thoughts...am I wrong?!

JLO legally changes her name...

JLO legally changes her name...

The beautiful 45 year old Jennifer Lopez legally changed her name to ... tan tan tan ---->
Jennifer Lopez. Not quite the big name change your were expecting but she had taken on the name of Jennifer Muniz when she married Marc Anthony Muniz or Marco Antono Muniz which is his real name back in 2004. The couple split in 2011, but the divorce was just finalized in June of 2014. They co-parent the twins, Emma and Max.

I am excited about reading her book "True Love" she is one truly amazing woman career wise. I was skimming through the book moments ago and I read quickly about how everyone in the world must be thinking she was living a dream... she was married to Marc Anthony, she was performing at an award show, she was on top of the world...but really her world was falling apart" her memoir True Love has made Jennifer Lopez a NY Best Selling Author as well.

I'll let you know my thoughts on it next week...

Have a beautiful Wednesday!

BCBG Max Azria Pre Fall 2013

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

Designers Max and Lubov Azria's ,  BCBG Max Azria Fall collection for 2013 has a demure and romantic feel to it.  “I went to Istanbul in September and the scenery was breathtaking,” recalls Lubov. “Walking down those cobblestone streets really takes you back to the twenties, thirties, and forties.”

“It’s such a romantic place—it was really influential of the collection’s mood.”

The collection also has big sporty patent leather jackets that can add that rather conflicting piece to any ensemble.

“Athleticism is part of our lives now,” says the Los Angeles–based designer. “Modern clothes need that element to propel them forward . . . and I also like the idea of playing with opposites.” Finding a fur gilet to throw over a whisper-light chiffon dress certainly isn’t the first thing on a woman’s mind come May, but wait until October when the weather starts to turn and pre-fall is still hanging in stores, and it’s a different story. Says Lubov: “We have to bear in mind different climates so that wherever a woman lives, she has options.”

Can't wait to see photos from NYFW

Houston Fashion Bloggers Holiday party

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

I am slacking on my pimpin lately...lol My posts have been slow, with the holidays and all I have just neglected my poor baby. But here I am today, with a little cold,  the day after Christmas with a bit of energy and hoping to catch up. Hope all is well in your world! Merry Christmas!

Mandy joined me and I dressed her (long story)
Couples of weeks ago, I was invited to the Houston Fashion Bloggers Holiday party held at Saks 5th and I was particularly excited to meet the founder and the rest of the fashion bloggers in town. To my surprise, there were quite a few. I mean Houston is a large city so I knew there would be some fashionistas with the same goals and like as me.

It was a pleasure meeting all of you and I will most def see you guys a lot more in 2013.

Wine (Columbia Crest) & Dinner

Wine (Columbia Crest) & Dinner
I was invited to a sit down dinner at Haven with head wine maker at Columbia Crest Winery, Juan A. Munoz Oca who happens to be Latino by way of Argentina.

I was excited to have gotten an invite from Columbia Crest, and although my tummy wasn't too happy that evening I did enjoy my experience. I was happy to meet other social media gurus and the wine maker himself.  We ate a fab dinner paired with different wines and got to know the wine maker. Our food was even brought out to us by the head chef, how cool is that?

Juan was so cordial, he spoke about growing up in Argentina and how his grandfather and him would walk the vineyards as a child. I think its awesome how everyone in this world is different and lead interesting lives in their own right. Him being a wine maker he was so knowledgable about the different wines we tasted, obviously because he made them, but he was passionate about them. Juan also explained why Washington is just as great or an even better location for a winery than Napa Valley. Why you ask, well for one it never rains making it a perfect climate for a grapes to grow and the fact that they have their own irrigation system allows them to create the perfect wines.

Mr. Juan and I
The wines were so delicious, not dry and when I found out the prices of the wines I was surprised. A great bottle of quality wine sold between $8-15. Meaning, we can all enjoy wine and be fancy on a budget. love it!  Out of the 4 different wines we tasted, including 2010 Chardonnay, 2010 Les Chevaux Red Wine, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon was my favorite. It was a taste of cherries with a cocoa finish, it was soooo yummy! I actually need a glass right now. lol

our dinner, so good (all Texas raised & grown)

Chef Randy Rucker (one of the best chef's in Houston)

i love a table with wine glasses flowing
Overall, I had a great time, tasted some new wines that will now be purchased by myself and friends of mine. A big thank you to Columbia Crest for the invite, keep up the great work Juan!

Eva Longoria & Lay's Potato Chips campaign

Eva Longoria has lots more time to work on other projects now that she no longer is on set of Desperate Housewives. One of those projects is, joining with Lay's potato chips and their big campaign.

"Foodies" can submit flavor submissions to directly on the Frito Lay's website for a chance to win $1 million dollars to the person who creates the next best chip.

"To me, the best part about the contest is that you don’t have to be a foodie, chef or flavor expert to enter," Longoria said in a statement. "You just have to trust your taste buds. If you're passionate about a flavor, likely there are others who agree."

Eva's second perfume!
Eva Longoria who first launched her perfume line in 2009 is back with a new scent named "EVAmour". Which is a blend of apples of some sort “This scent is pretty layered in comparison to my first one,” the actress told WWD of the apple and red currant blend. “It’s like when you start drinking wine—I started with white wine, then went into more complex red wine. I’m taking baby steps into the more complex notes.
