WIN ALL THIS!!

I had a blast at Hispanicize 2013. One of the events that I was lucky to attend while at the conference was the invite only P&G- Ya Probaste Esto?/Have You Tried This Yet luncheon. It was very chic, the food was yummy with an array of chicken wraps, salads and a perfect pastry bar. Hispanic celebrity stylist Irma Martinez (Shakira, Daisy Fuentes, Thalia and more) was on site to share her top tips and tricks to help every Latina prepare their self, family and home for the warmer months that are sneaking up on us right now.

My Favorites at Latin Billboards 2013

Friday, April 26, 2013

The Latina Billboard Awards were live last night from Miami and I have to say, everyone was looking so beautiful. I love my Latinos. We are such a colorful culture.

Romeo Santos was looking sharp as always rocking his non prescription glasses. According to his Manager Johnny Marines, Romeo is looking into a few movie roals. They are friends with Will Smith but Johnny didn't confirm.  Johnny who is a former NYPD was using his past expertise on the lady fanatics of Romeo Santos last night, everywhere they went ladies wanted to touch and hug on him.

Ana Barbara who served as Host at this years awards looked stunning.

I'm featured in "Cosmopolitan for Latinas" Summer 2013!

So excited to share with you guys that Michelle Rodriguez, The American Bad Ass Latina actress is gracing the cover of the Summer edition of Cosmo for Latinas, the very mag that I am a "featured blogger" in!

Trust me, I want to add more exclamation points to that last statement, but I will control myself. LOL  I got an email about a couple of months ago from Cosmo for Latinas about featuring my blog in the Summer issue. I was at Hooters having lunch with clients of mine and I received that email and ever since, I have a fire inside of me to continue and be the best me, I can be. I have always loved blogging because it gave me my own voice and space on the www to share my thoughts, my feelings, my ideas and in this  case some very awesome news. Never would I have thought, I always wanted and now there is no stopping I!

Do you know how hard it was for me to keep this news a secret?!

The issue is set to be on new stands everywhere on April 30th, 2013 and will be available all SUMMER!

"COSMO....do you know what that means?? I grew up on Cosmo....to have a feature, even my name mentioned in that magazine is beyond amaze...What makes me even happier is that it's the Cosmo for Latinas magazine. Being recognized with out seeking it makes me feel special ... thanks for the comments and love you guys!" -  facebook

I was in Miami for Hispanicize and I met tons of fabulous people. One person in particular I was very happyto meet was Editor in Chief of Cosmo for Latinas, Michelle Herrera Mulligan. We met at the bar, hey, don't judge, we were enjoying the Target pool party and happen to be thinking alike lol.

I was pleased to sit in her "15 minutes of Genius" where she discussed her life as an Editor and struggles as a Latina in that world and her many accomplishments. I walked away with a lot of knowledge and very inspired.

Don't forget, April 30th, Michelle Rodriguez on the cover, Me in the inside, page 11!!

Talk to you soon SpoiledOnes!!

Jergens Crema Party Recap plus a free gift

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

I'm a Libra, so naturally I love gatherings and being social. So when I got asked by Latina Bloggers Connect to host a Jergens Crema party in my city of Houston, TX, I gladly obliged. I couldn't say no to gathering a group of fabulous lady bloggers for a mini social where the guest or should I say guests of honor were the latest in Jergens Crema products. So again, planning a gathering with blogger friends, food, drinks and sampling the latest in skin care, yeah I couldn't say no, plus it was Jergens. You should never say no to a house hold name.

I hosted the Jergens Crema social at Hotel Sorella, where the John the manager had a trendy section for us that was well lit and perfect for the occasion. I ordered some appetizers for the gals, got the goodie bags ready to be sent home with the guests and posted my 1st picture of the event to Instagram (Follow me, if you aren't already)

Pitbull responds to Jay-Z's open letter song with his own version

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

A couple of weeks ago Jay-Z and Beyonce celebrated their wedding anniversary in Cuba which caused alot of static with most citizens of Cuba.  Mr. 305, Pibull is Cuban Proud and we knew he could not let the moment pass without weighing in on the topic himself.

The U.S holds strong economic sanctions in Cuba and the idea of them traveling to that country was abusured to most and has also led to a probe to find out whether or not The  Carters had proper permission to enter the country.

I'm a Latina Mama Bear...are you?
Let's face it, being a Latina Mama Bear isn't always easy. It takes a lot of work, lots of love and determination to be the manager of your household.

Most of you know, how busy my life can be. I am juggling being a mommy, a blogger, a publicist and all the other roles I am given and take on, than on top of that trying to stay fabulous...it is nice when a company like Charmin takes notice of the efforts we put in as Mama Bears to our famiy and careers.

I have been blessed to have been nominated for several Fashion Blogging awards, was recently on a Fashion Blogging panel at the Hispanicize conference in Miami, I occasionally do TV. But my main and most important roles are being a mommy and wife. At the end of the day, I am proud to be the driving force at my home and products such as Charmin make my life a whole lot easier.

I am proud to be a part of the Charmin and the Latina Mama Bear campaign where Latina Mama Bears are being recognized for not only being fabulous but being fabulous and hustling Mamas. Charmin and myself are  inviting all Latina Mama Bears to articipate in their sweepstakes on the official Charmin facebook page.  Spread the word....

I missed celebrity mom the one and only Giselle Blondet at Hispanicize this year, however I did stop by the Charmin booth and got to find out more about this fun campaign. Make sure to enter, because you never know...you may be the lucky winner!

This is part of a sponsored campaign with Charmin and Latina Mom Bloggers. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Expert potty training tips #everyflush
Being a Huggies Madrina Del Bano I was able to participate in a conference call with Dr. Alberto Cotton and fellow mom blogger Jeannette Kaplun about potty training. Since my son is 3, potty training is in full effect and this call was very helpful to very first potty training experience.

Dr. Alberto Cotton and fellow mom blogger Jeannette Kapluna
Being that my son is 3, I was feeling a bit stressed when the topic of my son not being potty trained was brought up. I had heard that boys and girls are a lot different obviously, but the myth that boys take a little longer and it's simply a little harder was taking its toll.

So this is what I learned:
  1. All children are different and there are four stages of potty training. Dr. Cotton states that the 1st stage is when the child, in this case my son is wearing a diaper and is wet but it doesn't bother him. He (Anthony) was at this step for a couple of months. The 2nd stage is when the child takes off his diaper and asks to be changed because he cannot stand to be wet. Anthony totally skipped this step. He never told me he needed to be changed, I always changed him before I thought he felt uncomfortable. I do talk and explain to him that a wet diaper is no fun and that it was best for him to let me know so that I can change him.*Speaking to a 2 year old sometimes is the same as talking to a wall. lol  Stage 3 is when the child asks to potty but doesn't make it to the toilet on time and the 4th stage is when the child asks to be taken to the potty and makes it on time.  I am proud to say that we are now officially at the 4th stage of potty training and completely skipped over the 3rd stage.  I have to admit, we are celebrating every moment!
  2. Sitting or standing for boys- whatever works at the moment. My son is sitting, but now recently has been wanting to stand. We are still working on it.
  3. Use a Timer- children need structure and repetitiveness and according to Ms. Jeannette setting a 30 minute timer will remind them that its time to go to the potty and after a while won't need a timer because they will automatically know.
  4. Wiping- for boys is a little easier, girls we must remind them how to wipe and constantly keep reminding them the importance of cleaning.
  5. Public restrooms- This is a big deal for me. Since my son has been sitting at home, I hate for him to sit at a public restroom. In Latin America, it's OK for a boy to pee by the tree but here in America it isn't seen as normal says Dr. Cotton. He suggests waiting. I am taking Ms. Jeannette's advice and buying a portable seat and buy lots of antibacterial wipes, that way I won't have to worry about my son touching anything which drives me crazy.
My lil man sitting on the potty
We are making Anthony's potty training a family affair. Since he goes over to his auntie and grandparent's house, we have encouraged them to support us in our efforts of saving money on diapers and assist us in potty training. Luckily like I mentioned, since he is in stage 4,  he is asking to sit on the potty and he is listening so it's making his visits a little easier.

We are celebrating every step of the way by singing a song like Ms. Jeannette suggested or rewarding Anthony with stickers, and hopefully in just a few more months he will be fully potty trained.

Huggies has an app, that you can download that has tips on making potty training a bit easier.
If you’d like to use the app in your potty training journey or would like more info and tips make sure to visit the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pull-ups and view a video to learn about pull-ups you may also visit the offical website at  http://www.pull-ups.com.

New Music: Joan Sebastian & Will I. Am

New Music: Joan Sebastian & Will I. Am

Not your oridinary collaboration, you see Joan Sebastian is a Mexican Regional singer who is about the age of my daddy and Will I Am, well we all know who he is, Mr. Black Eye Peas.  Both of whom are Grammy winners, respected in their genre of music and being collegues in the music business they managed to work the business aspect out.

News of this collab first came out last year around this time when Joan announced he had been writing english songs and wanted Will to produce the album. Very smart decision to accept for Mr. I Am. because Joan Sebastian has a very strong and loyal fan base and Will does too and not to mention anything he touches is instantly a hit. Yet, I was a bit apprehensive when I was going to listen to the track.

It is titled "I want to be happy" it is an upbeat sound, basically telling the woman of his dreams, that he wants to be happy and tired of the bs. ( typical )  It's catchy, it'll be one of those young college days, drunken nights, young hipster anthems, especially in the US and Latina America... don't believe me, just watch!

Let me know if you like it or not by pressing the options below the video :)

Had a great time at "SidePiece" event hosted by accessory designer Isaac Lyons.  I met Isaac during my COEUS magazine cover shoot. His pieces are strictly words that can be worn to make a statement.  He gave me a "Spoiled" and a "Latina" piece. Love them both and totally forgot to rock them that night..take a look at some of the pics from the event. Look out for more of Isaac and his sidepieces.
