Road Trip with Chevy to Fiesta De La Flor

A few weeks ago I decided to participate at Fiesta De La Flor in Corpus Christi as a vendor selling my Spoiled Latina and Jefita Bonita T's. Honestly, I was very nervous about selling my merch on such a big weekend but knew that Jefita's live everywhere and Spoiled Latinas are all around us plus FDLF would be the biggest event I had ever sold at besides SL Day.
I had to make sure I stocked up on new color ways, sizes and different inventory to be fully prepared for such a grand weekend and I was.

Corpus Christi, is about a 3 hour drive from Houston, and I knew that I would drive because of everything I was taking with me. While planning it all out, Chevy calls me! (God is Good!)
Turns out, Chevrolet was an official sponsor of Fiesta De La Flor and wanted to offer a media loan to help me get to Corpus in style, comfort and room for all of my merch and supplies and not to mention our luggage.
Grateful for the Chevy team for supporting their media friends to help make our work easier!!

We all know weekend road trips are always fun, but weekend road trips with your girl friends are way more fun, so I invited a few of my girlfriends who are always very supportive of one another along for the trip, to keep me company and of course to hustle with. The Chevrolet Silverado was big and bold and made me feel safe. I loved the features that the Silverado had such as the Rear Vision Camera, its a camera that pops on when in reveres that provides the driver of a view of the scene directly behind the vehicle. 6 airbags, just in case God forbid anything happen to use while road tripping and On Star Connected services with automatic crash response emergency services. Our road trip went smooth as can be and we had a blast on the road.

The one friend who came along with me, Laura - was the best! We jammed out to all of our favorite tunes, laugh, share stories, found new roads and ultimately grew our friendship all while driving to and from Corpus in a Chevy was really cool. The Silverado has bluetooth and 4G Wi-Fi which was awesome because my friend had work to get done. Apple CarPlay capability and if your team Android its compatible as well.  6 speaker audio system which made us feel like we were superstars the way we were singing to the top of our lungs. LOL

Overall the experience was great! Can't wait to experience another Chevrolet model and tell you all about it!

we had just arrived to the festival so excuse the look!

I had a quick interview with Adrienne Bailon and Suzette - click to watch it!

While my visit to Corpus, I also had the chance to catch up with my sister who I had not seen in a few years. She joined me at Fiesta De La Flor and than met up with me the next morning for breakfast before my drive back to Houston. So happy for these moments!

Shout out to everyone that stopped by and shopped Spoiled Latina and Jefita Bonita...thank you for the support!

Chevrolet - thank you for the love!

Bad Bunny hace historia at Vińa del Mar

The king of Latin Trap, BAD BUNNY, continues taking leaps in his career. This past weekend, the artist marked history being the first artist of his genre to perform on the most important stage of Latin music, The 60th Viña del Mar International Song Festival, where he received the coveted Gaviota de Plata (Silver Seagull) y Gaviota de Oro (Golden Seagull).

"I have watched Viña del Mar since I was little and going there sounded like a dream,” said Bunny. "I was a bit anxious, but once I heard the fans screaming, the anxiety turned into excitement because they are my real boss and the audience is the one with the power. This was a dream come true!

The singer-songwriter performed hit after hit including some of the most successful songs from his debut album "X 100PRE." Bad Bunny kicked off his explosive show with "Estamos Bien" and "Ni Bien Ni Mal," then continued with his international hits "Diles," "Si Tu Novio Te Deja Sola" and "Sensualidad." Then, the artist invited El Alfa to perform their collaboration, "La Romana," and then continued with his recent singles "Caro" y "Si Estuviéramos Juntos," to take a short break just to receive his Gaviota de Plata.

At that time, Bad Bunny took the opportunity to invite Arcangel to the stage and thanked him for being the artist who opened the door for him into the world of music. They both sang a duet "Tú No Vive Así" and "Me Acostumbré" and the trap artist then closed with "Soy Peor," which left "El Monstruo" electrified and earned him the Gaviota de Oro. To end his historic concert, the singer-songwriter said goodbye with the mega-hits "Krippy Kush" and "Chambea," and left the stage to the booming sound of applause and cheers.

The festival was full of music, style, and humor, and its stage was graced by other internationally-renowned artists such as Becky G, David Bisbal, Marc Anthony, Sebastian Yatra, The Backstreet Boys, and Wisin y Yandel, among others.

SL at Boss Life Ball 2019

Every year, the Boss Life team celebrates one of its own - Rico's birthday and in true boss fashion, the Boss Life Ball was born. Bosses are known to giving back to the community in whatever way they feel necessary. These bosses created a foundation which is the Boss Life Foundation a non-profit organization founded in 2015 to focus greater attention on research and educating the specifically in low-income communities. Boss Life Foundation is also dedicated to educational programs and mentoring the youth. Which is why this years 6th annual Boss Life Ball was that much worth supporting.  The foundation also recognizes local entrepreneurs in the city. Last year, I was an honoree and it felt great going back as a guest not only because of that but because the mission behind the foundation is amazing.
The location was at the beautiful Post Oak Hotel and the vibe was just right.

I loved seeing everyone happy, dressed to the T's and dancing and most importantly supporting Boss Life Foundation towards their goal of raising $100k towards their efforts.
I hope the goal was met!

2018

It’s the last day of 2018, and I am so thankful for this community. I dreamt of having my own business, and running it how I wanted and here I am. Not perfect, but better.
So many memorable moments which I shared on my Instagram

So many great things happened in 2018,  but also just as we left up our highs we have to talk about our lives which made us who we are today.  This year was definitely a roller coaster ride, I left a career that I love to focus and fulfill my lifelong passion of having my own business and really focus on my blog. I created a clothing line, which is small, still in the making, still my baby. But it’s mine and during that time I wasn’t sure if I should, I had Merch before but nothing quite like I really wanted. With the support of my hubby and him calling me a boss mom, I did it! There’s plenty of us who are bosses in our own right. Of course, I overcame that battle inside my head, because it’s my battle and I win my battles. I have learned to not let negativity consume my mind, I have learned to not allow what other people to influence or change my energy. I continue to do what God is blessing me to do, and always always and all ways follow my intuition.  People are rude, ignorant, and that has nothing to do with you.

Jefita Bonita, is growing and glowing!

SL Day Was nothing short of amazing.  What started off as a celebration or recognition from city of Houston to myself I want to recognize the amazing and powerful women in our community that I creating a space for us to get together and grow.

So thankful for the sponsors and made the day even better, sponsor such as Macy’s or donate it to a Raices Texas. So many connections are made, all work and friendships were made, and I am just always so happy to hear all of the amazing connections and relationships that are made just by attending SL Day. You guys 2019 as hell day it’s going to be so much fun so please prepare your July calendar’s now.

Throughout the year there are so many events that I attend and I always like to send thank you cards and since the world has gone digital -  I use  Paperperless post. Paperless post is a cool site with many varieties of birthday cards, invitations, thank you cards and more - lots of free stuff but also cute and affordable digital cards with envelopes! I highly recommend you guys use them this year!

So no matter what you go through - throughout the next year always be grateful, send thank you cards, send people their flowers while they are alive.

Other great things that happened were attending Latin Billboard and Latin American Music Awards. Both, the ONLY person from Houston on the red  carpet! Another amazing feeling, I met everyone working press and its always a "Wow, you're from Houston?"  yup! Represent

My son is now 8, going on 9 in January and he also had an amazing year. I think on of his favorite moments was meeting Bad Bunny.

I partnered with Sprint this year to host a back to school event with Prince Royce.

Made it in the Business section of Houston Chronicle.

Started a podcast! It Was All A Dream with my cohost Elyse!

Part of my main goal for 2019 personally is to get back in shape. With so many ways to lose weight, I am going to stick the the natural way of kicking my own ass and making it happen. I, of course like to look good while I work out, something about looking good makes me feel good if I look good. lol Weird I know, but honestly, if we look bumby we will feel bumby. Moments in San Antonio - video

The month of December has gone so fast, just as 2018 has. What an amazing year, and what an amazing way to start the last month of the year by heading on a mini road trip to San Antonio for a Holiday Influencer event hosted by Marisa of Mexi Moments with a special guest... Me!

This weekend was already a busy weekend for me, I had a pop up shop the day before the San Antonio drive and my brunch and the Chevrolet Colorado that was loaned to me for the week was such a BIG help! I drive a small car in real life so when I had the opportunity to drive a pick up, I jumped on the opp. I was able to transport my Jefita Bonita merch to and from all my events this weekend. The weather wasn't pleasant (all my vehicle pics were bad) so having the extra back seat space helped so that my items didn't get water damage.

Thank you, Chevrolet for supporting Latina Entrepreneurs!

Marisa and I met a few years back. She was a new blogger and started a series of highlighting women who inspired her and she would share it on her blog.  She reached out to me and asked to interview me and me being me, I said yes. Fast forward to a year or so later, meeting her at Selena Mac launch. I was covering the event and she was in line. She actually had a good spot considering the 15k or so people there. We always kept in touch, most recently she attended SLDAY 2018 and was inspired to do something for in San Antonio and introduce me to the fab ladies of San Antonio. That's exactly how this event happened. I am thankful to meet followers who turn into people I can count on to help in anyway to build our brands.

San Antonio was a great vibe. I sat and chatted with strangers who were so nice, shared a piece of me with each of them and they shared stories with me as well about our goals, business questions were answered and advice was given. We all have one thing in common, we all want to succeed. It was beautiful seeing a room full of Latina Entrepreneurs and future Latina Leaders of San Antonio.

Take a look at the video, thanks to Sway Rodriguez for filming!

Latina Leaders of Houston Dinner

I spent the 4th evening of December with a fabulous group of Latina Leaders in Houston. Every day that I hop onto social media, I watch them work and continue to expand their craft and their own brand and I am inspired by them. They each do their own thing, each an entrepreneur and I was blessed to partner with Hennessy and recognize them in my first Latina Leaders Dinner party.

As Latina women of Houston, each of our lives is different. We are all either married with kids, single with kids, single and/or a in between but we are all have one thing in common, we are hustlers! Latna Hustlers of Houston, on a mission to be great, stuck in traffic most of the times but getting things done on our own or with a small team because at the end of the day we are small business owners on our way to building our empires. In 2017, Latinos in Houston represented nearly 40 percent of the region‚ small business owners, a number that has doubled in less than five years.
