Macy's Backstage opens in Houston

Macy's Backstage opens in Houston

Macy's Backstage is officially open in Houston!

Backstage is an affordable brand launched in 2015 that aims to win back young bargain hunters who have been hitting the web for better deals. The store is located inside the Macy's at Pearland and is stocked with goodies. I literally wasn't in the store for more than 10 minutes and spotted the hand bag department. I got a great deal on the MCM branded tote and couldn't resist my urge to shop the hand bag selection. I bought 3 bags!!

Macy's Backstage carries home decor and kids shoes which Macy's doesn't carry inside their stores. They also have a nice sized beauty department with a good selection of beauty finds such as hair dryers and straightening tools. Another addition to the goods is the pet department with pet bedding and toys for our special 4 legged friends.

Honored as a Boss at Boss Life Awards

Hi Babes! It's been a long month already and its just the beginning of 2018. Happy New Year to you and yours by the way! I pray this year brings you all the desires of your heart. The year is off to a fantastic start and if its any indication of how the rest of the year will be, this year will be grand. It's the 10th anniversary of SpoiledLatina. 10? yes 10! I am working on SL Day (more info on that in the coming weeks)

January 16, I received a Boss Life award from the Boss Life Foundation that is founded by Slim Thug who is one of Houston’s own and a well known rapper in Texas and a good friend of mine. The Boss Life Foundation honored other outstanding individuals at the 4th Annual Boss Life Ball at the home of the World Series Champs, Union Station inside Minute Maid Park.  These entrepreneurs have a proven track record of being extraordinary entrepreneurs. The recipients of the Boss Life award recipients  Tilman Fertitta who is the owner of Landry's Restaurants and the Houston Rockets (Billion Dollar Buyer), Daymond John founder of FUBU and on Shark Tank,  rapper Bernard “Bun B” Freeman , radio personality Madd Hatta from The Madd Hatta Morning Show, and a popular Houston bakery owner known as the Cake Ladi than there is me!

I was surprised that I was chosen to be honored. I have known the guys and supported them for years and for them to notice my hustle was special. Slim and Boss Life inspire me and I appreciate them for including me in this years festivities.

I was the only Latina to receive the Boss Life award all for starting almost 10 years ago as a way to empower women through beauty, fashion, and lifestyle. Through the years I have become more than just a lifestyle blogger, I am a popular entertainment and brand specialist. If there is something exciting going on in Houston you will find me there.  Over the years I've also worked with top spirits brands creating brand affinity and drive the culture through entertainment.  This past year I was the brand specialist in charge off all things Ciroc/Deleon in the Houston market and I moving forward am the social media correspondent for Latina Magazine.

Pretty in Pink - OOTD

There is something about the color pink that makes me smile. Its my absolute favorite color. So when I visited the Marshall's store in Miami looking for a bathing suit, somehow I managed to make it to the dress area (its the natural shopper in me) I found this dress. The dress was on sale, took it to the dressing room to try it on and it fit perfectly. I had to buy it. This was my second time wearing the dress, I paired it with a pair of low heels I purchased at Nordstrom and wanded my hair for a wavy look.

I had to film a segment with a local TV station and this made the perfect look. Never under estimate what you can find at Marshalls. It may be difficult when looking through the racks to find the right piece but with a good attitude and some time you'll find it or if you're lucky, it'll find you.

I love playing with the filters as you can tell.. lol

A day with JCPenney in Miami

A day with JCPenney in Miami
Hola Amores!

I spent all of last week in Miami at the Hispanicize conference.  You guys know I am a stylista and I like looking put together. Hispanicize is held in Miami, therefore I had to plan according to the weather and the "feel" of Miami. I'm a Texan girl and Texas girls know how to dress and I am Latina so whatever we wear, we wear it well!

I started planning my outfits a week prior and took photos of what I planned on taking. Unfortunately for both you and I, my phone completely shattered on Monday, the first day of the summit and I don't have those pictures to share. However, I recovered bought a new phone and life was great soon after. LOL!  I knew I needed conference outfits and I wanted to stay true to my personal style. Often times, when people travel we purchase things that normally we won't wear in our city and therefore the items are no use after. I used to do that, not anymore! Spoiled Latinas shop smart!

Speaking of shopping smart, I totally loved partnering with JCPenney  last week for Hispanicize and specifically for Tecla Awards. I was  I documented my day on snapchat (because I am a snapchat lover and I was nominated for best snapchat story teller at Tecla Awards) don't worry if you don't follow me on snapchat, you can view the story below.

We took a trip from Intercontinental hotel to the JCPenney at Dadeland Mall. It was me, Ydelays, and Monique from Curves and Chaos. Once we got there, we were treated to delicious fruit and mimosas and a room filled with the latest fashion trends for a fun night out and lots of clutches, handbags and accessories. I was loving it!

I really liked what the stylist had chosen for me, but I had to make my way to the cocktail and party dress section just to make sure I wasn't missing out on something that my eyes didn't see. And just as predicted, I had.  I spotted a navy mid drift top and a flowy with a flair lace skirt that immediately caught my attention. I searched the shoe section and chose a corral and nude sandal and combined it with a corral color clutch I found. It was the cutest outfit! Plus I am able to wear 3 of the 4 items I wore more than once.

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with JCPenney and DiMe Media. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

If you really know me, you know I love me some sneaker wedges! Converse has taken their Lux silhouette, which has a hidden internal 2.44-inch wedge to give your height a boost, and completely encased it in premium leather. The result is the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Lux Shroud, delivering a bold, fashion-forward look that helps protect your feet from the elements. These would look amazing on with a pair of skinny jeans, a tank top and a jean jacket over it. Big shades, hair in a pony and big earrings.

If you want to order your here.

And if the Star Lux Wedge wasn't enough Converse announced earlier this month that they are paying radical homage to the punk era with a full range of alternative footwear for men and women. Converse goes against the grain with the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 high top, flipping the classic construction from front to back in an act of creative subversion. The unique design features a rear-seamed white leather upper with the tongue and waxed black leather lacing on the heel.

Thalia visits Houston and we chat it up (video)

On Saturday, September 19th, Macy’s welcomed internationally recognized singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, author, philanthropist, and designer Thalía to Macy’s Memorial City to celebrate the official launch of the Thalía Sodi fall collection with a meet and greet with the icon herself.

Hundreds of guests received an exclusive pass for a meet and greet with Thalía! The Thalía Sodi collection includes apparel, shoes and jewelry and is available at 300 Macy's stores nationwide and on The exclusive new line captures the passion, charisma and style of the legendary Thalia Sodi and features feminine, figure-flattering dresses, tops and pants, as well as bold prints, bright colors, sexy silhouettes and glitzy jewelry.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Thalia and talk about the collaboration with Macy's, how she juggles life as a working mother and advice for the next Latina boss. She is so sweet, she interacted beautifully with her fans and it was great to meet her and pick her brain.

always great to see friends while working

I also shap chatted my day.... watch the video for behind the scenes footage and don't judge my singing skills. lol

They are here!

SpoiledLatina, is a powerful Latina who works hard to spoil herself. Whether she kicks back to read a book, gets a manicure or takes a spontaneous getaway. She may an independent Latina who is furthering her education or she works 3 jobs and simply wants to sleep in one day. The possibilities of spoiling yourself are endless.

I think as women we work so hard to further our careers, to be friends, sisters, mothers and many of us manage our households. We often forget about ourselves. There is a lot of responsibilities to being a head strong, goal oriented woman. I believe in Spoiling yourself from time to time. I work long hours. My mind is constantly on the move with different ideas and ways to implement them. So when I do get some free time, some me time, I will spoil myself. I love shoes so my feet get the spoiling, most of the time.

Having said that...

Finally, I made t'shirts! I have been thinking of printing some for us SpoiledOnes to wear for the longest and with life happening and everything going on, I just hadn't. Until now!

So ladies and gents the shirts are ladies t's. 98%Cotton 2% Spandex. Soft and comfortable, a good feel to your body.

I created the SpoiledLatina logo T and also the hashtag #SpoiledOnes.

Hope you like .. Click here to purchase and enter SPOILED at checkout for complimentary shipping in the U.S.

2014 is set to see lots of detailing, sophisticated and intricate embellishments and soft neutral color palettes that will be found all over the upcoming prom scene.
From such a big variety, and so many colors to choose from, the search can be bit overwhelming but to make your search a little easier whether it’s for your prom, your sisters’, or your daughters’ here are the Top 5 Trends for Prom 2014 Dresses:

Bebe Launches Eyewear for Spring/Summer 2014

Bebe just gave us another reason to love them even more!

To go along with their stylish collection of apparel, they have launched a BRAND NEW sun collection of eyewear for spring/summer 2014. “Bebe is a lifestyle brand, and aside from our apparel, non-apparel is a big part of our business. Launching sunglasses was a natural next step in expanding our accessories collection and rounding out our girls’ lifestyles needs,” CEO Steve Birkhold said.
As we welcome the official first day of spring, sunglasses are a MUST have for just about everyone, and what better than the new stylish collection of Bebe Eyewear. From new assimilations of the classics, to traditional shapes, Bebe incorporates mirrored lenses, the plastic vs. metal combination, one of our favorite’s full volume glam shapes, and much more!
What’s not to love?!
The face of Bebe Nina Agdal helped launch the brand’s sunglass spring/summer campaign last Friday in Miami, Florida. Fans eagerly lined up around the block to meet the Sports Illustrated cover girl. Agdal signed autographs and modeled the new Bebe eyewear collection.
So what are you waiting for?
Go out to a Bebe store nationwide, or and SPOIL yourself with the new eyewear collection. The collection ranges from $68-$88; stylish AND affordable, a combination we simply CANNOT resist.
