Makeup2 (squared) Launch Party hosted by Me

Had the pleasure of hosting a long time friend of mine's make up launch over the weekend. Tee Burr is a celebrity make up artist who I met when I hired her for some music videos a looong time ago. I always kept in contact with her, so when she told me she was launching her own make up line called Makeup Squared and asked me to host her launch party, it was a no brainer.

The evening was filled with fabulous women, great music, good food and lots of laughs and a good time!

You have to support the line, which is the only cosmetics brand designed for women who represent all ethnicities & myriad of skin tone. And guess what, a SpoiledLatina collection may soon be in the making :)

Mandy came out to support

Tee is a makeup genius

the colors are highly pigmented, i love them all

Friday, September 28, 2012

I am always excited to chat with Latino professionals in the beauty business. Ladies and Gents, meet Javier Romero. Javier is the latest addition to the popular Top 5 Agency roster.  The NY based Puerto Rican decent makeup artist has worked with countless celebrities, including Carmelo Anthony, Rita Ora, Roselyn Sanchez, Patricia Velazquez, Keri Hilson, Diego Luna and Nikki Minaj. He also regularly lends his talents to Women's Wear Daily, Paper, Siempre Mujer, People among others.

He shares with us advice on how to be successful in the business, summer to fall transformations, who his favorite celebrity client was and more make up tips for my Spoiled Ones....

Rita Ora
1. Any advice for the young latino (male) makeup artists looking to take his talents to the professional level?
Join network groups. Get yourself to any and all beauty-related events in your area. Whether it's a trade show, a trunk show, a store opening, or a book signing, be there with your business cards. As latinos, we tend to be very warm and friendly so we have to embrace that and use it as an opportunity to expand your services to different markets.

Happy Friday Spoiled Ones!

I'm happy to share some awesome news with you, Celebrity Hair Stylist Eric R. Williams who is known for his amazing weaves/hair extensions has recently made the big move from Maryland to New York and is now being represented by my good friends at Top 5 Management. Eric is the one who introduced me to Mixed Chicks products a couple of weeks ago, because as most of you know my son is a mixed kid and I must say, the products have really helped tame my 2 year olds hair. (I'll post about Mixed Chicks real soon)

Eric has recently worked with Selita Ebanks and Disney's McClain Sister at the White House and he just returned from Revel Resorts where he worked with Beyonce's Band and Dancers, and his biggest dream is to work with the Queen B herself...

Q&A with Celebrity Make Up Artist- Jackie Gomez

Celebrity Make Up Artist Jackie Gomez, has a bright future ahead of her. Being one of the top Latina Make-up artist in the industry, recently tied the night with her long time beau and working with the likes of  Beyonce, Solange, Marissa Miller & Lily Aldrige she is proving with determination & a passion you can live your dreams. Jackie, has worked with many celebrity's and even has traveled the world with some.

Q & A with Jackie begins now:

What is your must- have beauty product for the working woman on the go?

One of my favorite products for women on the go is Fusion Beauty's GlowFusion Bronzer as you can use it all year round to achieve a natural glow no matter how much time you have in your hands.

How does it feel to represtent the Hispanic culture being one of the well known celebrity makeup artists?
I feel extremely proud of being a successful Latina makeup artist in this competitive industry and I love being recognized for embracing my Colombian/Mexican background

What product do you think is essential to create a glamorous red carpet look?

The secret to achieving a glamorous red carpet look is to start with beautiful glowing skin and one of my must haves to achieve this look is the Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Powder Foundation.

Having mascara running down our face when we get into the pool is definitely not a fashion statement, which water-proof mascara do you recommend?

Definitely try my favorite Glameyes waterproof mascara by Rimmel London as it is the best long lasting and smudge-proof product in the market.

Which celebrity have you had the best experience working with and why?
I truly love all of my clients as they are all unique and beautiful in their own way, but I've had the best experience with Beyonce traveling the world with her team.

What are the top 5 essentials that a girl should always have in her makeup bag?

#1-Tinted moisturizer with like SPF #2- Mascara #3- Blush Bronzer Duo #4-moisturizing lipstick #5- Waterproof Eyeliner

7) What does the future hold for you? Should we expect any major projects from you, such as having your own makeup line?

I want to keep collaborating with the industry's top cosmetic brands and eventually launch my own makeup line.
