 If your looking for something fun and exciting to do over the Labor Day weekend, why not head to San Antonio. Festival People en Espanol presented by Target. The festival is a weekend long event, celebrating Hispanic culture, entertainment and community and this means there will be plenty of festivities for the whole familia.     In addition, Festival People En Español will offer visitors two days of free, yes Gratis,  open to the public events including the opportunity to catch exclusive Q&A sessions with celebrities and telenovela stars, hear tips from leading industry experts on topics ranging from fashion to wellness, and interact with favorite brands. I am particularly excited because not only will Daddy Yankee, Prince Royce, Tito "El Bambino", 3Ball MTY and a whole lot more artist, and to make the festival as grand as it is.... LUIS MIGUEL, Mexico's ultimate bachelor, heart throb, romance king,  will be performing too!! 

Luis Miguel as you may or may not know is a musical icon from Mexico and he is very popular among the ladies, having dated some of the most famous women in the industry such as Sophia Vergara, Daisy Fuentes, Mariah was goo goo over him and his most recent breakup with Brittney Gasstineau. His romantic lyrics and grown and sexy swagger is definitely what keeps the girls coming.  As a young girl I remember a movie that he and Lucero were in, they were friends and imaginary lovers. It was a musical, I loved that movie (clip of movie at the end of post) I also remember being young and spending time in Mexico, my cousins who were older than me would take me with them on Sunday nights to drive around the plazuela where all the young adults would hang out. We drove around listening to Luis Miguel con Mariachi full blast. My cousins would sing at the top of their lungs,  while driving would say hi to there friends and everyone was listening to their favorite music and my girl cousins would stick to Luis Miguel. Those were fun memories.... 

ok. So back to the festival.....

Why stay home and do the normal barbecue or beach celebration when you can drive a little ways to San Antonio and do something different, free and entertaining! J.Lo and Enrique and Me

Houston was on fire on Sunday evening and I am not talking about the weather. J.Lo and Enrique Iglesias were in town and they brought the heat. I missed Frankie J perform, but I heard the once Houstonian put on a good show. I was just in time for Enrique and his show was great, he was wearing his signature jeans and t-shirt and baseball hat. He performed his english hits and not many of his spanish hits, which I would have loved to see him perform his old music.

J.Lo/Enrique Iglesias (giveaway)

I am so excited about attending the J. Lo and Enrique Iglesias concert in Houston on August 26th. I've seen Jenny from the block a number of times, the very last time was when she was on tour with her ex lover Marc Anthony while she was pregnant. Times have changed and now she is dating a younger man (more like a boy toy) is a mother of twins, her body is looking hotter than ever and she is on tour with Enrique Iglesias. 

When I think of J.Lo and Enrique musically, I have always been a fan. I remember way back when I was young gal and my mother buying me the Enrique Iglesias cd or might have been a cassette tape, that I don't remember but I do remember listening to his music for hours upon hours. It was soothing, sexy and I couldn't wait to fall in love. Now when I listened to J.Lo, she was and is the IT Latina in fashion, sexiness and overall what young Latinas wished to be. Her wardrobe was and is always on point and for some she is not the best singer but I have always liked her music which is mostly high energy, her style and poise. 

I created a playlist of some of my favorite J.Lo and Enrique songs that have videos to them. I have great memories singing, dancing and crying to these songs. I can not wait to sing my heart out at the concert!

Girlfriends...

When I was little, I used to believe in the concept of one best friend, and then I started to become a woman. And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up, God would show you the best in many friends. 

One friend is needed when you're going through things with your man. Another friend is needed when you're going through things with your mom. Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be. One friend will say, "Let's cry together," another, "Let's fight together," another, "Let's walk away together." One friend will meet your spiritual need, another your shoe fetish, another your love for movies,another will be with you in your season of confusion, another will be your clarifier, another the wind beneath your wings. But whatever their assignment in your life, on whatever the occasion, on whatever the day, or wherever you need them to meet you with their gym shoes on and hair pulled back, or to hold you back from making a complete fool of yourself .. those are your best friends.

It may all be wrapped up in one woman, but for many, it's wrapped up in several... one from 7th grade, one from high school, several from the college years, a couple from old jobs,on some days your mother, on some days your neighbour, on others, your sisters, and on some days, your daughters.

The day after I attended the wedding of my friends Jessica and Nelson aka the "Hip Hop Girl and the Rocker Guy".  Hate that I arrived late, but the last part of the ceremony did make me cry.
