LA for the weekend

LA for the weekend

Los Angeles, California - a city that I love to visit and each time I'm in the city, I see and do something different. This go around, I was in town to be a Social Media Ambassador for Hispanicize LA. Because it is LA,  knew I needed a car to get me from place to place so I teamed up with Buick to test drive one of their vehicles.

I drove a stylish 2019 Buick Envision, red is the color of the season so therefore I was happy when I saw the color, the actual color is Chili Red Metallic. The Envision is just the right size to drive while in Los Angeles.  The trunk was the perfect size for all of my luggage, carry on bag and an extra bag.... I always over pack. It's a problem, y'all!  To help reduce fuel consumption, seamless Stop/Start technology automatically shuts down the engine when the Envision comes to a stop under certain driving conditions, like a stop light. The engine automatically restarts when you release your foot from the brake. Which totally helps save gas. New for 2019, you can turn this feature on or off with the touch of a button. I kept it on, we drove all over L.A. through out my stay and keeping it on was worth it.  I loved the heated seats, and my most favorite feature was the Surround Vision that helped identify and alert us of potential hazards under certain conditions. It rained one night (who said it doesn't rain in L.A.?) and the Surround Vision was able to identify it on the camera.
It's such a cool feature!

The first night I attended the welcome reception inside the grand ball room, I caught up with friends that I only get to see on social media and had a good 'ole time  than went to bed to be up early for the first day of the conference.

I wore a white sequin top from Zara, Black Zara Jeans and Steve Madden heelsThe first day of the conference was great. I woke up to a beautiful LA morning, got dressed and made my way to the conference. I met and connected with brands and people I wanted to. I learned many things during the many panels that I attended. I loved learning ways to manage your money by getting tips from Prudentials

Patty and I follow each other on social media, and I love her everyday posts with her sons. I also love that she loves her Mexican roots, and is the creator of fun bilingual childrens books called  Lil Libros.  She's awesome!

United Airlines Travel panel was great. I learned how United can help me spread my message to Latinas and Moms that it is ok to spoil ourselves.  I love United!

I caught up with Texas own,  Rita Garcia who is now on Good Day LA morning show!

and I introduced her to Dorinda Walker from Prudential, a woman to know -
hopefully some Money Monday's come out of this!

I also met Palacios, a music producer turned artist. He's worked with a lot of major
Latin artists, I can see him doing good.
Always love seeing Crafty Chica

The next morning, I woke up early to do one of my many titles - makeup!  I am in no way a make up artist but I did however, volunteer to apply makeup on Elayna who was filming a branded video.  My husband and Anthony arrived to LA and we went to eat breakfast, than I got back just in time for the Beauty panel.

I caught up with Mac Daddy, looking fierce and fabulous.

I was so happy to meet Dr. Ana Maria Polo who moments before this picture was taken was honored with the Positive Impact Award at The 2018 Hispanicize Conference LA ... I immediately sent my mom the pic and
she replied "ay hija que padre."

Overall I connected and reconnected with some amazing folks... a few takeaways from this weekend are to connect with those who inspire you, build a network of supporters who genuinely support you and believe in your brand and vice versa and last is to simply be yourself. In a world full of different people and personalities being your genuine self... wins!

Thanks to the amazing team at Buick for the ride in L.A.
and United for the travel to and from.

Anthony was thrilled to sit in the Captains seat on his return flight home, another reason why we love United. They always make Anthony feel safe and secure by being extra friendly when they see him and as a mommy with an inquisitive son, its reassuring for him.

Looking for love? You just might find it at Target

This is a cute story and a testament that you can find love anywhere as long as you receive it. Crest recently received a super cute message on their Facebook page from a gentlemen who shared his story on how he met his fiancĂ© at Target in the toothpaste aisle. As a matter of fact, they got married over the weekend just one day before my birthday on October 6th. As a gift to the couple Crest surprised them with a portrait of themselves painted entirely by Crest toothpaste done by renowned portrait artist Cristiano Ramos – see how the amazing portrait came to life below! In addition to the portrait, Crest also provided tubes of Crest toothpaste as party favors for the wedding guests. Congrats to this lovely couple!

Find love in your toothpaste aisle too and head over to your local Target to get $2 off Crest Gum Enamel Repair, Crest Gum Detoxify or Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy.

A chat with David Anderson on It Was All A Dream Podcast

I love sharing my platform for good. I feel that I have this community of followers who are all go getters, trying to make our dreams a reality and if I can get them to open up about their life goals and how they are doing things than maybe it'll inspire others to dream big and work hard.

Today, I had a conversation with a good friend of mine. He is someone that I look up to and a friend for life, David Anderson. Watch the convo on business, mentoring, how we met and more OR you can listen to us on iTunes podcasts.

Thanks for the pics, Stephanie!

5 Quick Confidence Boosters

5 Quick Confidence Boosters

We live in such a fast paced world and social media is one tool that can totally kill your confidence.  Although, you shouldn't let it get to you - sometimes you just can't help it. It's natural to feel insecure, but insecurity shouldn't make you jealous. It should, fuel your power to be the greatest you that you can be. Everyone is amazing in their own way and can add so much value the universe if we simply had the confidence to do just that.

Here are a few of my tips on how I stay confident in our own world.

  1. Turn up the volume. Turn on your favorite song or songs and get into the music. Dancing and singing out loud even though I am a horrible singer helps me feel better. Listening to the likes of Shania Twain, Beyonce and Mariah are major confident boosters. I created a playlist with my favorite and uplifting songs that are perfect for these moments and other everyday moments. I listen to it in the car, while doing my make up and I update it frequently. Download it here.
  2. Put some make up on. Adding color, eyeliner, blush and lipgloss or a pretty red lip does a whole lot for your confidence. We are beautiful without makeup but I promise enhancing our beauty by adding some color and a bit of highlight will not only add a sparkle to your eye but to your confidence.....Than snap a selfie and post it with the caption #LoveMyselfForever
  3.  I think about Selena. I honestly do. I think about Beyonce and J.Lo and all my business idols and remember that we all have the same 24 hours. It totally boost my energy than I refer back to #1 and turn my music on
  4.  I go in for a blow dry. Sometimes we have to let others gifts and talents help us get our mojo back. Something about having someone wash my hair and blow dry it for me is a total game changer. If you can't get to a dry bar, do it yourself. You'll feel great with a great head of fabulous hair.
  5. Break a sweat. Working out and breaking a sweat is an automatic self confidence booster. Apart  from the many physical benefits it also does your mind good. Studies prove exercise can boost confidence and reduce stress. Remember you don't have to power workout and strain yourself to sweat. Go for a walk, bike ride, and get to moving. Download the playlist from tip #1 and go!

It Was All A Dream....Making my dreams a reality with a podcast

I leaped into a podcast!  Because, obviously - I don’t have a million other things to do. (YOLO)
A few weeks ago my colleague and I were having a casual lunch and when I say casual, I mean I’m dressed in Jordan’s, tights, hair in a bun and my favorite J.LO tank top and you can bet I had my hoops on as well. Oh and mine and her child were there too. These meetings with Ellyse, my friend, colleague and now co-host usually happen at Chic-Fil-A. Kids play while mommies make money moves.

Our podcast is titled.. “It Was All A Dream”.

It’s a podcast where Elyse and I share conversations with a variety of entrepreneurs who are making their dreams a reality. The entertaining yet inspirational podcast will bring you closer to the people behind the brand. Myself and Ellyse are super excited to be sharing these business convos with people we are inspired by in one way or another and you’ll definitely feel more driven and motivated to conquer your own dreams after listing to our show... at least that’s the goal!

Tune in to our podcast and subscribe to us on Apple Podcasts. We are also going LIVE on Facebook Tuesday’s at 12 moon cst which is the day we upload new episodes.

Thanks so much for your support through out the years!

oh and here are our little guys...you know we had to snap a pic of these two cuties!
