A chat with David Anderson on It Was All A Dream Podcast

I love sharing my platform for good. I feel that I have this community of followers who are all go getters, trying to make our dreams a reality and if I can get them to open up about their life goals and how they are doing things than maybe it'll inspire others to dream big and work hard.

Today, I had a conversation with a good friend of mine. He is someone that I look up to and a friend for life, David Anderson. Watch the convo on business, mentoring, how we met and more OR you can listen to us on iTunes podcasts.

Thanks for the pics, Stephanie!

5 Quick Confidence Boosters

5 Quick Confidence Boosters

We live in such a fast paced world and social media is one tool that can totally kill your confidence.  Although, you shouldn't let it get to you - sometimes you just can't help it. It's natural to feel insecure, but insecurity shouldn't make you jealous. It should, fuel your power to be the greatest you that you can be. Everyone is amazing in their own way and can add so much value the universe if we simply had the confidence to do just that.

Here are a few of my tips on how I stay confident in our own world.

  1. Turn up the volume. Turn on your favorite song or songs and get into the music. Dancing and singing out loud even though I am a horrible singer helps me feel better. Listening to the likes of Shania Twain, Beyonce and Mariah are major confident boosters. I created a playlist with my favorite and uplifting songs that are perfect for these moments and other everyday moments. I listen to it in the car, while doing my make up and I update it frequently. Download it here.
  2. Put some make up on. Adding color, eyeliner, blush and lipgloss or a pretty red lip does a whole lot for your confidence. We are beautiful without makeup but I promise enhancing our beauty by adding some color and a bit of highlight will not only add a sparkle to your eye but to your confidence.....Than snap a selfie and post it with the caption #LoveMyselfForever
  3.  I think about Selena. I honestly do. I think about Beyonce and J.Lo and all my business idols and remember that we all have the same 24 hours. It totally boost my energy than I refer back to #1 and turn my music on
  4.  I go in for a blow dry. Sometimes we have to let others gifts and talents help us get our mojo back. Something about having someone wash my hair and blow dry it for me is a total game changer. If you can't get to a dry bar, do it yourself. You'll feel great with a great head of fabulous hair.
  5. Break a sweat. Working out and breaking a sweat is an automatic self confidence booster. Apart  from the many physical benefits it also does your mind good. Studies prove exercise can boost confidence and reduce stress. Remember you don't have to power workout and strain yourself to sweat. Go for a walk, bike ride, and get to moving. Download the playlist from tip #1 and go!

It Was All A Dream....Making my dreams a reality with a podcast

I leaped into a podcast!  Because, obviously - I don’t have a million other things to do. (YOLO)
A few weeks ago my colleague and I were having a casual lunch and when I say casual, I mean I’m dressed in Jordan’s, tights, hair in a bun and my favorite J.LO tank top and you can bet I had my hoops on as well. Oh and mine and her child were there too. These meetings with Ellyse, my friend, colleague and now co-host usually happen at Chic-Fil-A. Kids play while mommies make money moves.

Our podcast is titled.. “It Was All A Dream”.

It’s a podcast where Elyse and I share conversations with a variety of entrepreneurs who are making their dreams a reality. The entertaining yet inspirational podcast will bring you closer to the people behind the brand. Myself and Ellyse are super excited to be sharing these business convos with people we are inspired by in one way or another and you’ll definitely feel more driven and motivated to conquer your own dreams after listing to our show... at least that’s the goal!

Tune in to our podcast and subscribe to us on Apple Podcasts. We are also going LIVE on Facebook Tuesday’s at 12 moon cst which is the day we upload new episodes.

Thanks so much for your support through out the years!

oh and here are our little guys...you know we had to snap a pic of these two cuties!

Maná is Latin Grammy Person of the Year

The Latin Recording Academy® today announced six-time Latin GRAMMY® and four-time GRAMMY® winning rock-pop band Maná will be honored as the 2018 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year™ for their extraordinary creative accomplishments and philanthropic contributions to the Latin community, as well as for their steadfast and dedicated support of environmental preservation and protection, as well as human rights. This award carries additional prestige and significance as it will be the first time a band receives the Person of the Year recognition.

"Mana, is the first concert that I ever attended. I was 15, watched it with my brother in Reynosa Mexico. It's always a memorable experience watching them perform or listening to their music. Felicidades!" - Spoiled Latina

The Person of the Year award is bestowed upon musicians of Ibero-American heritage in recognition of their artistic achievement in the Latin music industry and their profound humanitarian efforts. Past honorees include Marc Anthony, Miguel Bosé, Roberto Carlos,Plácido Domingo, Emilio Estefan, Gloria Estefan, Vicente Fernández, Juan Gabriel, Gilberto Gil, Juan Luis Guerra, Julio Iglesias, José José, Ricky Martin, Carlos Santana, Alejandro Sanz,Joan Manuel Serrat, Shakira and Caetano Veloso.

"Maná (Fher, Alex, Sergio and Juan) is an iconic band with a profound social and environmental consciousness that has created captivating and vibrant music for over three decades," said Gabriel Abaroa Jr., President/CEO of The Latin Recording Academy. "Fusing mainly funk, reggae, ska, bolero, and a spectrum of Latin rhythms mixed with pure rock; Maná has created true musical anthems. In addition to becoming worldwide Latin music icons, their members have championed for social justice, global equality, and encouraged environmental protection using the force of their melodies and lyrics, which repeatedly remind our communities of our strength, resilience, and our inherent cultural value."

"It is a grand and unexpected recognition to an extensive career, a beautiful and passionate one that we continue to enjoy as if it were the first day. We are flattered that the most prestigious Latin music organization is recognizing us. Undoubtedly, it will be moving to hear our songs performed by talented colleagues and friends. We hope to continue using our voices and this honor to raise awareness about environmental concerns and human rights issues around the world," said Fher on behalf of the band.

Maná will be honored and celebrated at a star-studded gala featuring a glamorous tribute concert, including renditions of their renowned repertoire performed by an impressive array of notable artists and friends on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

One of the world's most influential Latin rock-pop bands, Maná—currently comprised of Fher Olvera, Alex González, Sergio Vallín, and Juan Calleros—have 133 gold records, 256 platinum records, and more than 48 No. 1 hits worldwide. Classics such as "No Ha Parado De Llover," "Rayando el Sol", "De Pies A Cabeza," "Labios Compartidos," "Bendita Tu Luz," and "Mi Verdad," among many others, have become essential songs of the Latin American soundtrack. With their latest tour in the United States, the "Latino Power Tour"— they traveled to various cities promoting the importance of the Latin vote in the past presidential elections.

Throughout the last three decades, they have used their voice and international recognition to raise awareness about environmental, social, political and human rights issues worldwide. In 1996, Maná created the Fundación Ecológica Selva Negra, the band's philanthropic entity, which preserves endangered species, provides educational programs on the environment, and contributes and organizes community development projects.

Their success has crossed borders, they have surmounted every obstacle, and achieved a global presence where people from all over the world, whether in Israel or New York, sing their songs in Spanish, generating an emotional connection despite language barriers.

The net proceeds from the gala will go toward the charitable work of the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® whose mission is to further international awareness and appreciation of the significant contributions of Latin music and its makers to the world's culture through scholarships, fellowships, grants, and educational programs. The Foundation's primary charitable focus is to provide scholarships to students interested in Latin music with financial need, as well as grants to scholars and organizations worldwide for research and preservation of diverse Latin music genres.

Nine-time Latin GRAMMY and three-time GRAMMY winner Rafa Sardina will be the executive producer of the prestigious event. Greg Fera will serve as the producer, and Gustavo Borner, who has received eleven Latin GRAMMYs™ and five GRAMMYs will be in charge of the sound for the night. The musical production and coordination of the event will be managed by Moon Moosic, Inc.

An Afternoon in Houston with Prince Royce

I had the opportunity to moderate the "Ask Me Anything" Q&A session with Prince Royce this week in Houston. Sprint brought the fans closer to what they are passionate about including their favorite musicians and it was a great time with an intimate group of lucky fans who were able to sit in while we went live on FB for the Q&A. We also gave some backpacks full of goodies to some lucky guests.

My day started early, as I had my hair done with Vanessa aka V Houston Stylist she literally brought my hair and vision to life.

Gio, once again did my make up. She also did my makeup for SL Day. I love these girls. It's great to have a crew who understands your hustle and want to see you shine. Gio, does weddings and tons of shoots and Vanessa is a hair guru in the making. I love that she's passionate about her craft. Is not afraid to educate herself and grow her business and her hustle is inspiring!
