A day with JCPenney in Miami

A day with JCPenney in Miami
Hola Amores!

I spent all of last week in Miami at the Hispanicize conference.  You guys know I am a stylista and I like looking put together. Hispanicize is held in Miami, therefore I had to plan according to the weather and the "feel" of Miami. I'm a Texan girl and Texas girls know how to dress and I am Latina so whatever we wear, we wear it well!

I started planning my outfits a week prior and took photos of what I planned on taking. Unfortunately for both you and I, my phone completely shattered on Monday, the first day of the summit and I don't have those pictures to share. However, I recovered bought a new phone and life was great soon after. LOL!  I knew I needed conference outfits and I wanted to stay true to my personal style. Often times, when people travel we purchase things that normally we won't wear in our city and therefore the items are no use after. I used to do that, not anymore! Spoiled Latinas shop smart!

Speaking of shopping smart, I totally loved partnering with JCPenney  last week for Hispanicize and specifically for Tecla Awards. I was  I documented my day on snapchat (because I am a snapchat lover and I was nominated for best snapchat story teller at Tecla Awards) don't worry if you don't follow me on snapchat, you can view the story below.

We took a trip from Intercontinental hotel to the JCPenney at Dadeland Mall. It was me, Ydelays, and Monique from Curves and Chaos. Once we got there, we were treated to delicious fruit and mimosas and a room filled with the latest fashion trends for a fun night out and lots of clutches, handbags and accessories. I was loving it!

I really liked what the stylist had chosen for me, but I had to make my way to the cocktail and party dress section just to make sure I wasn't missing out on something that my eyes didn't see. And just as predicted, I had.  I spotted a navy mid drift top and a flowy with a flair lace skirt that immediately caught my attention. I searched the shoe section and chose a corral and nude sandal and combined it with a corral color clutch I found. It was the cutest outfit! Plus I am able to wear 3 of the 4 items I wore more than once.

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with JCPenney and DiMe Media. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Preview Selena Como La Flor lipstick by MAC

This has been by far, one of the best announcements this year!

A preview of COMO LA FLOR lipstick, one of the products from the upcoming #MacSelena collection! This morning Suzette, sister of Selena posted to her Instagram. Selena's style lives on through the passing of her fans and her impact on Latin beauty and culture. #MACSelena is a makeup collaboration inspired by the devotion of all those who continue to be touched by the young legend, tenderly curated by Selena's own sister, Suzette.

"I wanted the colors to be about her personally, what she wore on and offstage"  says Suzette "She has been gone for 21 years already, and for this collaboration to happen its pretty much incredible. It just shows the love her fan base has even though she's gone; that her music still lives on and her legacy has grown tremendously since she passed. Its a great honor to have M-A-C collaborate with Selena's name and her fans FOR her fans"

Beach Day with #HTownkid
I spent the day with my son Anthony at the beach at Galveston, TX on Easter Sunday.  It has been at least a year since he had been there. I heard the whining and questioning as to why we are driving "sooo far" "it's going to take foreverrrr" complaints from a 6 year old,  but I assured him he would thank me later..and that he did!

We hit the road and snap chatted the day. Watch the video below that I posted to YouTube.

If you aren't following me on snap, add me now! #LatinaInHtown - I am actually a finalist at the Tecla Awards for best snapchat storyteller.

My first speaking engagement at SXSW

My first speaking engagement at SXSW
L-R : Nicole Garner Scott, Tammy Wyatt, Me, Gabrielle Delucas, Devi Dev & Tracy G
I've attended SXSW in Austin, TX for many years. I've been both as a music lover, a spectator as well as an event planner. This year I was a totally different experience as I was a Speaker. Yes, a speaker! I arrived into Austin on Wednesday evening in the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse. A sleek, spacious, easy riding vehicle.  I enjoyed the heated seats and the comfortable ride. I also loved that Anthony, could watch his movie on the overhead DVD screen and I could listen to my music.

The panel was scheduled for Friday, March 18th and I was a bit nervous. I always seem to get nervous than arrive and all nerves fly out the window.   The panel was created for all women in business with interests in entertainment and media. During the panel 5 women who have created and marketed successful brands within the entertainment industry spoke about our experiences as woman in the industry, the challenges we face and get through them. A special thanks to Gabbi from Business Rules for Women for adding me to the panel.

I, myself gained a little more knowledge than  I walked in with. After the panel I met a beautiful young girl from Monterrey, which is in Nuevo Leon Mexico. We talked, I shared some ideas with her and how to grow as a blogger and she was the sweetest thing. We both teared up because she was inspired by me and I was inspired by her. She is taking the leap of faith and pursuing bigger opportunities. Saludos Amiga!

I totally wanted Torchy's and I stopped at the location that President Obama visited the week prior. The line was so long and the wait would have had me late to SX events therefore we drove off and ate elsewhere. But I got the pic!

What I wore the first day was a black jersey dress that I've had in my closet for a while....I added a green vest jacket that I purchased at Macy's because I loved it and since it was raining a bit, it helped and looked cute.

What I wore the day of my panel

Top: Forever 21
Bottom: BCBG Max Azria
Shoes: Top Shop
Hair : Me and Mason with the curls.

Next up is Hispanicize in Miami!

CONVERSE CHUCK TAYLOR ALL STAR LUX WEDGE SHROUD

If you really know me, you know I love me some sneaker wedges! Converse has taken their Lux silhouette, which has a hidden internal 2.44-inch wedge to give your height a boost, and completely encased it in premium leather. The result is the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Lux Shroud, delivering a bold, fashion-forward look that helps protect your feet from the elements. These would look amazing on with a pair of skinny jeans, a tank top and a jean jacket over it. Big shades, hair in a pony and big earrings.

If you want to order your pair...click here.

And if the Star Lux Wedge wasn't enough Converse announced earlier this month that they are paying radical homage to the punk era with a full range of alternative footwear for men and women. Converse goes against the grain with the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 high top, flipping the classic construction from front to back in an act of creative subversion. The unique design features a rear-seamed white leather upper with the tongue and waxed black leather lacing on the heel.

Ladies Night With Dove Dry Spray

Ladies Night With Dove Dry Spray

Life as we all know has its ups and downs and therefore we have to be prepared for its biggest moments...and by this I mean with our deodorant and of course a good group of girl friends! My must have fashion accessory is definitely my Dove Dry Spray. I have been using it for a few months now and when I first discovered it, it completely changed my life. lol I say that honestly because I was searching for a antiperspirant due to other brands just not working for me and was fed up with feeling uncomfortably musty. It was just not a good feeling. Thats why I have switched over to 48 hours of visibly dry with odor and wetness protection. Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant is the latest beauty trend so don't be on the late show when Im giving you the secrets to success now. It also leaves no visible residue meaning you can wear what you want and you won't stain a thing.

Last week I hosted a few girlfriends over for some champagne and food while we chatted fashion, hairstyles and the performances from the award show that was on. Before prepping for my day, which I knew would be a fun, long and an amazing time, I showered and sprayed my Dove DrySpray on, got dressed, got cute and we saw lots of shiny sequence dresses and big hair which is the latest trend just like Dove Dry Spray.

We had a great time talking fashion and getting to know each other.

My good blogging friend Annie Vasquez of Miami's TheFashionPoet was one of 3 correspondents at the Premios Los Nuestro awards and they shared some good tips for getting ready for a big night out.
Getting ready for the big night out means looking and feeling your best, so make sure to get plenty of beauty sleep and drink lots of H20 the night before.

Before every big event, I change at least three times to make sure my outfit matches my mood....which can lead to leaving white residue from your deodorant. To avoid so, use the Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant- it's my favorite! It will not leave any white residue while keeping you fresh all night (another plus, it also moisturizes your underarms!)

Kelly Saks of kellysklosetblog.com
Deodorant stains are the worst way to start a special evening, that’s why I love that Dove Dry Spray goes on clear and dries instantly. I don’t have to worry about embarrassing white marks on my party dress and can get straight to the fun.
My friend Carmen Contreras from Hot 95.7 sent me this text...
