Frankie and Alice Premier

The motion picture Frankie and Alice released today, April 4th in selected theaters throughout the country.

Halle Berry, an incredibly talented actress, and now producer, produced and starred in “Frankie and Alice,” a must-see psychological drama inspired by a woman suffering from multiple personality disorder in the early 1970s in Los Angeles. The film won an Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture and Best Performance in a Feature Film.

The Latino community is one of the highest ethnicities that suffer from mental illness. Some people, however, don’t feel quite comfortable talking about such a touchy subject, especially if it pertains to a close family member or loved one.
In response, Halle Berry has taken on the task to raise the awareness of mental illnesses among our communities through the film “Frankie and Alice.”
Lionsgate, Codeblack Films and the executive producers of “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge” and “Lackawanna Blues” bring us a mind bending drama starring Academy Award winner Halle Berry.
Frankie and Alice is inspired by the remarkable true story of an African American GoGo dancer “Frankie”  with dissociative identity disorder (DID) who struggles to remain her true self while fighting against two very unique alter egos: a seven-year-old child named “Genius,” and a southern white racist woman named “Alice.”
In order to stop the multiple voices in her head, Frankie (Halle Berry) works together with a psychotherapist (Stellan Skarsgard) to uncover and overcome the mystery of the inner ghosts that haunt her.
Halle Berry never fails to amaze us in her films, so make sure you go and check out this heartwarming, and awakening movie about mental illness!

A night out with Marissa Lopez Wong - Mario Lopez sister

A couple of weeks ago, Mario Lopez was set to make an appearance at Lumen Lounge and due to things beyond our control he could not make it. However after speaking to him, he asked me to host his sister and brother in law and I gladly did. Marissa Lopez Wong is an author as well as sister to top Latin TV Host Mario Lopez and Kailee Wong is a retired NFL player. They live in Houston with their children and after a good dinner they celebrated the night away at Lumen.
Waiting on when Mario will remake his appearance, hopefully it will be soon!

Better Together (sponsored post)

With my hubby and little man in the house things can get hectic. We all have packed schedules that require us to be on the go all day. That’s why I love using Caress Daily Silk Body wash Value Pack and my boys are smelling great with Axe Black from Sam’s Club. They are quick, easy to travel with, and smell great.

But best of all, Sam’s Club carries them! So, I can grab them while I am stocking the house up, and we have enough for both my guys!
Preparing for the day, freshening up mid-day, or getting ready for a night out, a quick blast of confidence from Axe is what my boys need.
But with Axe Black and Caress, my entire family is #BetterTogetherSC!

And Caress is for me, it gives me just what I need to start my day feeling fresh and lovely. I also love the reassurance that I smell great through out the day.
And after a long day it is the perfect way to relax.
And Sam’s makes it so easy to pick it up and go with their new app. Scan and Go! It makes my shopping trips so much quicker a…

Meeting with Romeo Santos...So Nasty

I love music and as most of us do, we also have our favorites. I was fortunate enough to meet one of my favorite musicians, Romeo Santos of the mega latin group Aventura while he was in Houston promoting his dvd release for "The King Stays King" a concert dvd from where he  sold out at Madison Square Garden for about 3 nights consecutively. He's like the male version of J.Lo, that hard to get close to.

There must have been over 2k people in line waiting to get an autograph, catch a glimpse, a smile, and if lucky a hug from this latino heartthrob.... luckily I didn't have to wait in a line. I got a smile, a hug and we spoke and laughed about some of his previous work and very first cd. I was waiting on him while he met other fans for a private meet and greet the radio hosted and honestly I don't know how he does it...I was laughing the whole time, at the requests some of the fans were making, than at the replies the management would give. His management took car…
