Hey guys, I have been so busy lately that I haven't had time to write a complete blog post. Eva Mendes First Interview Post-Baby

The beautiful Eva Mendes gave her first post-baby interview to Cassandra Huysentruyt Grey, of Violet Grey. In the pictures, Eva is in one of her own designs for New York and Company.

The actress revealed to Grey, "I love a waist. I love a beautiful dress. When I am designing with my partners I try to think about the woman I'm designing for, where she's going, what her life is like. That's why I don't design jeans or many pants. I think the easiest way to make a woman look beautiful is to put her in a dress that fits her properly."

Eva is wearing the Coral Clusters Maria Dress from her holiday collection, available for purchase the first week of December for $99.95.
New York and Company celebrated the one year anniversary of Eva's collection for the retailer this past September. You can find the current collection here.

that SpoiledLatina recorded!!

The snippet is included towards the end of Beyonce's new song "Ring Off" and you can hear me and my famous "ummph" agreeing to her.
The song is so beautiful and honestly after seeing her in real life and holding the camera as long as I did, I am so glad that Beyonce was inspired to write this song. Tina Knowles' spirit is amazing. Not a dry eye in the room that afternoon..... Watch the Tina Knowles personal story video below.

She Did That, Again: Tamar Braxton Launches TamarCollection.com

Tamar Braxton launched her clothing line exclusively online at TamarCollection.com and it is fabulous. But did we really expect anything less from the Diva? To sum it up, her collection is fun, and refreshingly chic at a wonderful price.

We love her collection but here is what she had to say about it:

“Anyone who knows me knows I’m all about looking fabulous without breaking the bank. So when designing this collection, it was important that the line had a wide variety of looks. A little everyday fashion, but also some runway looks at incredible prices. It is important to me that all of my fans feel like there is something for them” says Braxton.

The collection is a perfect mix. It is easy to see how the items would pair together. It is obvious from the welcome page that she wanted to do something that exceeded expectation. I mean, the site is even nice to just look at! And thankfully, the beauty doesn't stop there. The patterns and designs fit seamlessly with today's trends. While a lot of them boast a simplistic design, they send a powerfully confident message.

What makes the clothing line and website more special is the new virtual fitting room. It is insanely accurate! It asks for either all of your measurements, or simply your height and weight to give you a great idea of what the item would look like on you.

"Tamar Collection is the only US-based fashion brand to use a photo-accurate, virtual fitting room solution in its e-commerce store. This technology enables shoppers to check the fit of any garment on a virtual avatar after entering his/her precise body shape and size. This technology will improve customer satisfaction and help eliminate the frustrating problem that e-shoppers experience of having to return items that do not fit."

Here are just a few of our favorites:

How cute is this for a sweet date night or girl's night?

This is beautiful and perfect for any holiday outing.

So stylish for a relaxing Saturday outing or Sunday brunch.

These will finish off any outfit.

Dia De Los Muertos-A Celebration to Remember

Monday, November 3, 2014

Saturday Hennessy VS and East End Gallery hosted a Dia De Los Muertos event honoring our loved ones who have passed away.

Dia De Los Muertas is a hispanic holiday where families gather to remember those who have passed. The traditions include building altars and leaving possessions on the graves of the loved ones.

Elizabeth Gilbert- following our calling

Elizabeth Gilbert- following our calling

Elizabeth’s story was truly eye opening. She described her life as “going as planned.”  She had done everything right, everything that was expected. And, she was finally at the point where she should have been begun a family.

One problem, she -like many others- felt restless. She would ended up on the floor of her bathroom every night around 3 am, crying. She said something didn’t feel right. She needed more..  and she was fully aware that what she was doing was easy. And what she was about to do, terribly difficult.

During the process of her two year divorce, she found herself praying and crying in one of the busiest post offices in New York. During this session, the universal voice that had been talking to her told her to go out into New York and find something beautiful.

She thought to herself, “Beautiful? In New York?” But, none the less, she said felt resilient and determinded. Upon stepping foot out into the big city to begin her mission, there in the street was a line of elephants all dressed up and festive.

It would be a year later that she set out on her ultimate quest. Any hard times she hit through that year were often greeted with Elephants,  on sweaters, necklaces, newspapaers. Always a friendly reminder that, while her “planned life” was ending, but her real journey was just beginning.

One of her connecting examples is a story of a mother, 28, 5 kids, married. Again, sounds typical. Until one day, her husbands decides to never come home. That day, that women did a few things, got a job, and decided she would see the world by putting a $1 in a coffee can every day. She also decide that her life wouldn’t stay that way. 20 years later,  empty-nested, she cashed in those coffee cans and bought a freight ticket to spend a year going around the world.

Now the surprise isn’t in that she did it, she had promised herself she would.

It is in the fact that her kids were shocked because they could never have imagined that that would have been one of her dreams. They hadn’t ever thought that their mother wanted anything more than to provide for them.  (I know I am definitely guilty of this.)

The  lesson in this, is listen to the universal voice. If something feels wrong, it is because you are meant to be doing else.

Deepak Chopra: Love and Compassion [Part 2]

Again thanks to Toyota for allowing me to experience the Oprah Life You Want Weekend in Houston.
It was truly inspirational.

Oprah's first speaker, Deepak Chopra, respected for his holistic views, was a breath of fresh air. He outlined "7 Steps to an Awesome Life" help embrace and love your life. While these are a simple overview, I feel like they are thought provoking enough for you to apply and enjoy.

Standing O-vation for the Zaky

Standing O-vation for the Zaky
While attending Life You Want Weekend Houston, I was introduced to the most amazing story.

Yamile Jackson, son Zachary Jackson, invertor of the Zaky was presented with a $25,000 grant from Toyota.

The Zaky, available here, started out as a way for Yamile to help comfort her son while she had to leave him in the hospital. She bought garden gloves, filled them with beads to help hold her scent while she slept. She then left them to help comfort Zachary.

The nurses recognized how well Zach slept that night and all the other nights after. When Zachary was better an able to leave the hospital, they called Yamile and asked if she could bring in more gloves. Since then, she has produced some 40,000 Zakys which are in use in over 300 hospitals around the world.

Such an amazing story that was definitely deserving of a Standing O-vation!

Thank you Toyota for allowing me to attend such a wonderful event.

SpoiledLatina Loves...

I've been on the road a lot lately and that has me missing home.
So My Favorite Items of the Week are all about Texas and ease of travel.

You can't go wrong with this beautiful Texas shape bracelet. It goes with pretty much any outfit and blends effortlessly with other accessories. It's the perfect balance between State Pride and chic.

You know how your make-up is all over your purse? Well this is the perfect solution. It is neat, compact, and easy to see, and exactly what my purse needs. I saw this on Instagram right before I left the states and can't wait to get my hands on it.

This is a must-have while traveling.
It helps give my phone an extra charge without taking up too much space.
I know I will always be able to capture the moment with this battery handy.

How pretty this looks on my coffee table is ridiculous and it has the most amazing smell.
I have burned mine many times and it looks like its barely been on.
Those rare moments when I get a minute on the couch, this is a friendly reminder that yes, I am home.

Hope you SpoiledOnes love these as much as we do.
I can't wait to be home!

Oprah #LifeYouWantWeekend #Tour was nothing short of life changing [Part 1]

Wednesday, October 22, 2014

This post will start off a 4-part recap of the Life You Want Tour.
I will go over what I took away from each speaker.
I hope that I do a good enough job that you too be able to understand how to have the Life You Want.

To begin with, being in the presence of Oprah for two days in a row was a feat on its OWN. (see what I did there?) But, secondly the way she and her guest speakers spoke life into your soul was honestly a privilege to enjoy.

Oprah opened with a segmented on how our lives are connected by dots.

She explained how our "dots" connect to make our life what it is today. One of her "dots" was when she was about still very little. Her grandmother, who was caring for her, was outside boiling clothes and hanging them. Oprah was standing on the doorway about to churn butter when her grandmother shouted back at her, "You better watch me real good because one day you will have to do the same." At that moment, Oprah thought in her head, "No I am not."

She said it was even then that she understood she was going to do something greater. As she got older, she said she would get complimented on how well she spoke publicly or how well she read. All the way until she was 16 years old, getting a spot at a local radio station which eventually lead her way into a news anchor. All of those moments would make up her dots that connected to her where she is today.

Co-creating our lives

This section focused on how our lives are designed by the decisions we make and the way choose to think about those decisions. The way we speak to and about ourselves WILL shape our overall outlook.

The whole focus of this part was  that "everything you've been through will help you get through." Her whole life had prepared her to use her gifts to share her voice. She goes on to say that God (whomever you choose to say is God) puts certain gifts and situations in front of us to help guide our understandings. But the way we speak to ourselves will also help manifest those thoughts and ideas into life.

Her example here was when she was reading the Color Purple. She loved the book so much she bought copies and handed them out to everyone she knew. She so badly wanted to be in the movie but had lost hope on getting the part. But her attempts to speak it into existences say it manifest.

Her next lesson: Wanting for others

This lesson actually asked the audience to thing about someone they truly love and the clearly envision a life for them. What kind of car would they drive? What kind of house would they have? How many kids? Job? Friends? Where would they be?

In understanding, it was what you would be willing to give that person if we could. What dreams of theirs would you want to see fulfilled and would be able to be truly happy to see them achieve. This is to help us understand the power of giving and also how to want for others. This lesson is powerful, it really tests your willing to give. But also shows how easy it is to want to see someone you love happy.

To piggy back off of her earlier example, she said she finally had to come to terms with the possibility that the other actor was going to get the part and to allow herself to be happy for her and blessings before she was able to find out that she indeed had gotten the part.

SpoiledOnes,

I have been traveling a lot lately, just within in the past month I have been in New York and Los Angeles. And, while I love it while I am there, I can't say that packing is my favorite thing to do (especially since I am usually doing it last minute!) However, this is a list of my must haves while traveling that ensure I am always comfortable while on the road.

While I travel, I love being ready for anything so I can make the most out of my trip! So,  my essentials center around comfort and protection allowing me to refresh on-the-go.

ABC 13 Houston highlights Yvonne Guidry of SpoiledLatina.com for #HHM

When I first started my blog, I didn't have a plan. All I knew was I loved music, I loved fashion and all things pertaining to beauty. I also knew I wanted to share my thoughts with the whole world and since the internet was something semi new at the time, I logged into blogger and created my first blog post.  Fast forward 6 years later and now my blog has been featured in multiple national magazines, I have spoken on several blogging panels, have a large number of followers and my blog gets thousands of visits daily.

As I grew older, I knew that I was also being followed by young Latina's and young women everywhere and I wanted to be a role model in their lives whether I personally knew them or not. I want them to know that no matter where you came from or what situation you are living, that as long as they keep pushing and pursuing their dreams they can become reality.  So many times being stuck in a rut feels as though you will never outgrow that situation, but in all honesty, you can!

I was so excited when Rebecca Spera of ABC 13, reached out to me about being assigned to interview me/highlight me for Hispanic Heritage Month. I work my butt off, never for recognition but for the love of life, my life.

Thank you to everyone who visits SPOILEDLATINA.COM on a daily!!

Tina Knowles personal story

Last week, I attended a Women and Money Luncheon where Tina Knowles was the Key Note Speaker and listening to her personal story was truly inspirational. This was HER story not the Beyonce or Destiny's Child's story. Listen to hear how she persevered and how strong she is today and has always been.

Miss Tina also received the Key to the City of Houston which made October 2nd, Tina Knowles Day and if that wasn't enough it was proclaimed Tina Knowles Day all over the U.S.A.

Congrats Miss Tina!

JCPenney partners with Gonzo Soccer in Houston

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with JCPenney and Latina Mom Bloggers. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Last week I had the opportunity to attend a soccer clinic hosted by Gonzo Soccer and JCPenny. This new partnership is nothing short of amazing. The clinic allowed girls, ages 8-16 years old, to come and receive pro soccer tips and tricks from Monica Gonzalez, the founder of Gonzo Soccer. The girls received life skills training to help develop them to be leaders in the community. The girls were also treated to the latest sporty hair trends provided by JCP Salon. They enjoyed healthy snacks, refreshments and music, and even got to make their own custom Xersion jerseys!

SpoiledLatina radio interview

Sunday, September 21, 2014

Last week I was interviewed by the Food Monsters a radio show on K Breeze Radio, hosted by Dom and his co-host Priya. I had not been interviewed on radio before so it was nice to be interviewed by someone that I know.  I talked about juggling mommy hood and my business, working with brands and #TeamHennessy.

Also, on the same show was Ameer Jumabhoy who is an international polo player and model.

After the interview, we ate at one of my favorite asian "spots" in Houston and the lobster was to die for!

Viva Mexico and Hispanic Heritage Month

It's Hispanic Heritage Month and I couldn't be more excited!
Hispanic Heritage celebrations since 1968 were celebrated for a week until President Reagan declared it to be celebrated a whole month back in 1988.  September 15th- October 16th;  is now Hispanic Heritage Month. Celebrating the Hispanics that came before me and the legacy they have left behind for us to learn about and teach our children about.

I have created my personal Pinterest board that I will be updating frequently this month with some of my favorite things to eat, stories that I will share with my son and fascinating facts about hispanics and the beautiful culture that we bring.

Happy Independence Day to Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, Chile (9/18) Belize (9/21)  and of course to my motherland, MEXICO! ( I was born in the US but my roots are Mexican)

Saludos to all my hispanic brothers and sisters, who are making a difference in society and following your dreams to leave your own legacy.  We, Latinos are the driving force in US economics today and if you didn't know the major minority. We hold offices in government, business, sports and entertainment and we aren't going anywhere!

Viva Los Latinos!

SpoiledLatina featured in Latina Magazine
Honestly, don't know what to write right now. I am speechless, appreciative, thankful and honored to be featured in Latina Magazine, October issue. As a little girl growing up, I had dreams and goals and it is such a good feeling when you are recognized by the very magazine that I have read for years. Awesome feeling...

As I mentioned in a previous post, Eva Longoria graces the cover but ya girl (Me) is featured in page 32 of the same magazine!  One of my all time favorite eye make up applications is the cat eye.
I love a thin cat eye to keep it classy and sexy but I also love a thick cat eye
 a la Amy Winehouse.

My Latina style:

I just started using the Benefit push up liner and I love it! Must haves for the fall or if you're like me, all year long.

Below are some of my past cat eye looks....

Anthony was about 3 months here... but my eyes!

Lisa Pelayo on the eyes
thinly lined, keeping it sexy
This was for an ad I did a few years ago.

Festival People [recap] Disney Love

Friday, September 5, 2014

If you have been following me on Instagram and Twitter you probably noticed I attended the festivities in San Antonio, that being Festival People. I was fortunate to connect with my Cricket Nation family who sponsored by travels in exchange for social media engagement and being that I am a Cricket Advocate that gave me and the people I connected with
"Something to Smile About"! All opinions about the festival and Cricket are my own.

So, this is the 3rd time the People en EspaƱol Festival has been held in San Antonio, and it was my first time attending so I was really excited to get on the road and on with the festivities.

I arrived in sunny San Antonio, where my Cricket phone service worked like a charm! We stayed the Grand Hyatt which is the white building. The parking was underground, and I was surprised that my phone had service while 2 levels below ground.

October is my birthday month with that being said,
I am excited to share early birthday news.....

I will be in this very issue, sharing how to apply the perfect cat eye!

Thanks! Latina

Running to the book store for my issue!

Hennessy x Chingo Bling Birthday Fiesta

Monday, August 25, 2014

And another event, Hennessy is taking over Houston as we hosted Chingo Bling's
Birthday Fiesta over the weekend at Fox Hollow in Houston
.
Chingo celebrated with friends and family while everyone indulged in
Hennessy open bar which included delicious Latin inspired drinks,
puffed on flavored hookahs and danced to sounds by Dj Act Badd. We even ate yummy tamales and pan dulce!

Hennessy x Pedro Abasolo

I was happy to be a part of the for the Hennessy VS sponsored "Pedro Abasolo 2nd Annual Hair & Fashion show" where more than 200 guests were in attendance this past week. The event was held at the Hotel ZaZa and was a lavish fashion extravaganza that was dedicated to the strong & fearless women.

Guests walked the red carpet in style while mixing  fashion show goers who enjoyed the signature drink for the night. "El Pedro Abasolo" containing Hennessy V.S mixed with Pineapple juice. Mega 101's own Yuridia Gonzalez emceed the event, she is too cute!  She introduced Fashion Designer David Peck who gave us an exclusive sneak peak from his Fall 2014 collection. Amir Tagui, a 17 year old designer presented the fall pieces that he will soon showcase in NYFW and Azhand Shokohi presented her collection for the first time in Texas.
