Latin Billboard Awards recap #MiRitmoSprint

Last week,  I attended the Latin Billboard Conference and Awards in Miami with Sprint Latino. It was my first time attending the LBB and I must say, I learned a lot from the sessions. Each session was different and unique, and with my years in the music and entertainment business it was full of insight I had known but was reiterated by the amazing talent on the panels.

I began my week on Tuesday arriving into Miami bright and early.  The first panel was the Urban Latin music panel, followed by the music and sports panel which was very informative on how to get your music played on ESPN and how they choose their music. I also saw Marc Anthony and Marco Antonio Solis, who happens to be my mothers favorite. I actually wanted to cry on behalf of my mom. lol

Here are a few pictures and a video recap...

The Urban Latino Panel - Gente de Zona, Juan Magan, Ken-Y, Reykon, Saga Whiteblack & Zion y Lennox
Luis Coronel is such a sweetheart.

check out the video recap from the Latin Billboard Awards Red Carpet and backstage.....hope you like it!!

50 Years of Toyota Corolla in Miami

50 Years of Toyota Corolla in Miami
I was so happy when I found out I would be celebrating Toyota Corolla's 50th Anniversary at Hispanicize this year! My first car was a Corolla, it was so cute..."my baby blue".

I was 21, when I tested for my driver license. All of my friends had cars and licences way before me, so when my brother generously gifted me a car, I was excited and thankful.  The car was "my baby blue" she was a 4 door Corolla with a sunroof and a loud radio. She had a manual transmission so in order for me to put my license to use, I had to learn how to drive her. It took me a good week until we were inseparable.

Do you have a Corolla memory? Did you have any girlfriends, family members or anyone close to you that drove a Corolla? I ask because 1 out of 4 new Corollas sold in the U.S. are bought by a Hispano.

The Toyota Corolla has served drivers around the world with its dependability, affordability and evolution with the times no wonder it is the all-time world’s best-selling car.
With a total global production of more than 43 million vehicles and sales in more than 150 countries and regions, almost everyone has a Corolla story. One of my best friends in high school was lucky and her parents gifted her a brand spanking new white Corolla for senior year. I had a group of friends, we all played volleyball at our high school and I remember the summer before senior year we drove all over the Rio Grande Valley to play open gym volleyball against other girls at their high schools . That summer it was all about volleyball, frozen strawberries from HEB (*thank me later) and kick ass girls playing competitive sports all thanks to the cutest white Corolla. We all thought we were so cute!! lol which we were.

The celebration of the Golden anniversary launched at Hispanicize 2016 where Toyota was one of the title sponsors and carried out a great activation starting with a Corolla wrapped in all white which was present for all attendees of the conference to draw or write a memory of theirs onto the car. Super cute idea, I am not much of an artist so as you can see I wrote in my memory.

Also, a selected group of us were invited to test drive the 2016 Toyota Corolla and drive it from Downtown Miam to Biscayne Bay where we were greeted by Pat Pineda who is the vice president of Hispanic business strategy for North America and some of her team. Besides the warm greeting from Ms. Pineda, we enjoyed a delicious lunch and played some fun trivia, listened to some good music and ate a slice of the Corolla cake.

The view was insanely beautiful, Thank you Toyota!

A day with JCPenney in Miami

A day with JCPenney in Miami
Hola Amores!

I spent all of last week in Miami at the Hispanicize conference.  You guys know I am a stylista and I like looking put together. Hispanicize is held in Miami, therefore I had to plan according to the weather and the "feel" of Miami. I'm a Texan girl and Texas girls know how to dress and I am Latina so whatever we wear, we wear it well!

I started planning my outfits a week prior and took photos of what I planned on taking. Unfortunately for both you and I, my phone completely shattered on Monday, the first day of the summit and I don't have those pictures to share. However, I recovered bought a new phone and life was great soon after. LOL!  I knew I needed conference outfits and I wanted to stay true to my personal style. Often times, when people travel we purchase things that normally we won't wear in our city and therefore the items are no use after. I used to do that, not anymore! Spoiled Latinas shop smart!

Speaking of shopping smart, I totally loved partnering with JCPenney  last week for Hispanicize and specifically for Tecla Awards. I was  I documented my day on snapchat (because I am a snapchat lover and I was nominated for best snapchat story teller at Tecla Awards) don't worry if you don't follow me on snapchat, you can view the story below.

We took a trip from Intercontinental hotel to the JCPenney at Dadeland Mall. It was me, Ydelays, and Monique from Curves and Chaos. Once we got there, we were treated to delicious fruit and mimosas and a room filled with the latest fashion trends for a fun night out and lots of clutches, handbags and accessories. I was loving it!

I really liked what the stylist had chosen for me, but I had to make my way to the cocktail and party dress section just to make sure I wasn't missing out on something that my eyes didn't see. And just as predicted, I had.  I spotted a navy mid drift top and a flowy with a flair lace skirt that immediately caught my attention. I searched the shoe section and chose a corral and nude sandal and combined it with a corral color clutch I found. It was the cutest outfit! Plus I am able to wear 3 of the 4 items I wore more than once.

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with JCPenney and DiMe Media. However, all opinions expressed are my own.
