Thalia visits Houston and we chat it up (video)

On Saturday, September 19th, Macy’s welcomed internationally recognized singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, author, philanthropist, and designer Thalía to Macy’s Memorial City to celebrate the official launch of the Thalía Sodi fall collection with a meet and greet with the icon herself.

Hundreds of guests received an exclusive pass for a meet and greet with Thalía! The Thalía Sodi collection includes apparel, shoes and jewelry and is available at 300 Macy's stores nationwide and on macys.com. The exclusive new line captures the passion, charisma and style of the legendary Thalia Sodi and features feminine, figure-flattering dresses, tops and pants, as well as bold prints, bright colors, sexy silhouettes and glitzy jewelry.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Thalia and talk about the collaboration with Macy's, how she juggles life as a working mother and advice for the next Latina boss. She is so sweet, she interacted beautifully with her fans and it was great to meet her and pick her brain.

always great to see friends while working

I also shap chatted my day.... watch the video for behind the scenes footage and don't judge my singing skills. lol

Selena Quintanilla - new song 20 years later
Oh, happy day!

Art: Santi Siguenza

Since Selena's passing 20 years ago, we the fans have been wanting more. Not that her music isn't times less, but just a glimpse into what she could have been. Today, we got what we've been asking for... Selena radio dropped a new English song entitled
"Oh No (I'll never fall in love again)"
Although the quality isn't "up to par" my body get chills listening to her.

Missing you forever, Selena!

plus listen to an old radio interview... we definitely would have been friends with her sarcasm..lol

Happy Birthday Slim Thug!

Happy Birthday to Houston's own, Slim Thug!

I've actually known Slim for quite some years and celebrated with him and friends over the weekend and he hasn't changed at all. What you see is what you get - I'm sharing a video of where I interview him a few years back at the Dub Car Show Tour in Houston... while I was working on SwishaHouseTV.

Wishing you many more years, blessings and girls, Slim! lol

A Privilege toast to Bun-B

A Privilege toast to Bun-B

Hennessy celebrated one of Hip Hop’s living legends, Bun-B with a Privilege Toast in his honor. It was my Privilege as the Hennessy Ambassador for Houston to host him along with his friends and family last night at Straits Restaurant.

Bun-B Day in the city of Houston was proclaimed by the Mayor back in August 30th of 2011 (I was actually there and blogged about it) so it was only fitting to celebrate the King of The Trill on his day.

The evening which consisted of Hennessy Privilege drinks (named - UGK, Trill OG and The Pimp C) and delicious food was perfect combination with a little over 50 people that were personally invited by Bun... to celebrate his extended list of accomplishments, his growth and from what most said and agreed to as “ A loyal Individual with an amazing personality”.
James Prince, Bun's manager Anzel Jennings and a few others stood up to give a speech which all were great stories and added to the moment.

Bun-B who is entering his 3rd year as Professor of Religion and HipHop at Rice University is partnering with the Houston Food Bank as the Hunger Action Spokesperson for the “Hunger Bites. Bite Back” campaign kicking off in September.
