Westin Memorial City for a fabulous weekend

Wednesday, September 28, 2016

The Westin Memorial City is one of my favorite Houston Hotels for many reasons. For one, it is located in the Memorial City area, close to the malls and shopping attractions. The staff is extremely helpful and they make sure your stay is what you expected and more. The rooftop infinity pool on the 17th floor overlooking the city is breath taking. The seated areas in the pool area allows for us to walk and see the city in a 360 view. The rooms are spacious and have all amenities you need.
The room I stayed at for my SL Day weekend in July was to die for! It was a huge suite, with a full kitchen, 2 bed rooms and I honestly felt spoiled the whole weekend that I didn't want to leave. They truly spoiled me for my blogs 8th anniversary. Family and friends who were in town to celebrate such a magical weekend loved the property and we were enjoyed the evening on the rooftop. Memories were made, thanks to the Westin.
These are some of the photos of the property and from my stay. The delicious cheese and fruit tray upon arrival was a special touch. The gift bags with goodies from the businesses in the area were great too! I used my coupon for a blow out.
If you find yourself in the Houston area, staying on the West side of town I suggest that you stay at Westin Memorial City.

So comfortable! The work out room over looks the pool as well

My first speaking engagement at SXSW

My first speaking engagement at SXSW
L-R : Nicole Garner Scott, Tammy Wyatt, Me, Gabrielle Delucas, Devi Dev & Tracy G
I've attended SXSW in Austin, TX for many years. I've been both as a music lover, a spectator as well as an event planner. This year I was a totally different experience as I was a Speaker. Yes, a speaker! I arrived into Austin on Wednesday evening in the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse. A sleek, spacious, easy riding vehicle.  I enjoyed the heated seats and the comfortable ride. I also loved that Anthony, could watch his movie on the overhead DVD screen and I could listen to my music.

The panel was scheduled for Friday, March 18th and I was a bit nervous. I always seem to get nervous than arrive and all nerves fly out the window.   The panel was created for all women in business with interests in entertainment and media. During the panel 5 women who have created and marketed successful brands within the entertainment industry spoke about our experiences as woman in the industry, the challenges we face and get through them. A special thanks to Gabbi from Business Rules for Women for adding me to the panel.

I, myself gained a little more knowledge than  I walked in with. After the panel I met a beautiful young girl from Monterrey, which is in Nuevo Leon Mexico. We talked, I shared some ideas with her and how to grow as a blogger and she was the sweetest thing. We both teared up because she was inspired by me and I was inspired by her. She is taking the leap of faith and pursuing bigger opportunities. Saludos Amiga!

I totally wanted Torchy's and I stopped at the location that President Obama visited the week prior. The line was so long and the wait would have had me late to SX events therefore we drove off and ate elsewhere. But I got the pic!

What I wore the first day was a black jersey dress that I've had in my closet for a while....I added a green vest jacket that I purchased at Macy's because I loved it and since it was raining a bit, it helped and looked cute.

What I wore the day of my panel

Top: Forever 21
Bottom: BCBG Max Azria
Shoes: Top Shop
Hair : Me and Mason with the curls.

Next up is Hispanicize in Miami!

Jamaican Me Miss You

Wednesday, February 25, 2015

Hola SpoiledOnes! It's been a crazy couple of weeks and this cold mixed with rain is not making matters better. I am missing Jamaica. I feel as though I have connection to the country. I am not sure if it reminds me of Mexico because the people are friendly and the food is amazing- especially the spices! I have visited the island twice and I am fascinated with it. I can't wait to explore the rest of Jamaica. My last trip was in November of 2014; and I learned so much more than my previous visit. I was able to explore and learn the culture and see historical sights. Truly an honor to see.

Paris with Team Hennessy

Wednesday, April 30, 2014

Took a trip of a lifetime with my Team Hennessy family and traveled to Paris and Cognac, France with a brief stop in Amsterdam.

The pictures don't do the trip justice... I had an amazing time and really blessed to be given the opportunity!

Vacation at The Jamaica Inn- Ocho Rios- Heaven

Vacation at The Jamaica Inn- Ocho Rios- Heaven

I had the most relaxing time ever during my vacation at The Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. While planning our vacation, we knew we didn't want a huge resort overflowing with hotel guests, and since this was our first vacation without our 3 year old, we didn't really want to be around any children. I know kinda posh but hey, that's how I do. lol I wanted a beach and we decided on Jamaica as our destination for the week.

Short flight from Houston to Montego Bay, a private car drove us to the hotel which was about an hour 1/2 of well worth the wait and time. Upon arrival to The Jamaica Inn, we were greeted by Kingsley a lovely gentlemen that graciously took care of our bags and assisted us to our room. (Kingsley has worked at The Jamaica Inn for over 6 years) oh the room, was glorious. I posted a video on my instagram page of how fabulous my room was and the view. Our first meal, was served in our room and it was amaze. I knew from that point on, that we would love it. A way to a woman's heart besides shoes, is also her tummy. lol

Jason was awesome!
We stayed for 5 days, 4 nights in a premier veranda suite overlooking the ocean. I loved that the rooms didn't have a television making it the most wonderful, relaxing, romantic and favorite vacation thus far.  We laid on the beach for hours, went on boat rides, couples massages, dinner in our room, breakfast in our room balcony. We met one of the owners, who owns the hotel with his brother. His father bought the hotel in the 1950's after the war and have kept it in the family since. As a matter of fact his daughter is going to hotel school, so that she will one day manage the property. He stays and lives on the property It was amazing! Truly a 5 star resort.

The friendly staff makes it so easy for you to love and call The Jamaica Inn your home away from home. The property has no more than 50 rooms including private cottages that are to die for with spectacular views of the ocean. I had the BEST Calamari, the BEST Curry Chicken, I crave the fruit smoothie that is complimentary as your first beach drink every morning on the beach. The breeze, the sun, the view. If your lucky enough to be there on a Tuesday, the staff has a manager hour with complimentary drinks and an amazing buffet and dinner on the beach.

Before I forget, it was mentioned that Kelly Rowland was supposed to get married here and later called off the wedding and returned with friends and family on a getaway.
Enjoy the pictures and be sure to visit Heaven on Earth at the Jamaica Inn.
It's a little pricey and it is not an all inclusive, but as mentioned, good food, good service, and you can't beat it!
