Becky G talks mental health, her ultimate music collab and receives her own day at Spoiled Latina Day!

The sixth annual Spoiled Latina Day was awesome! Literally, amazing! Sorry, not sorry about the exclamation points, I mean how else, will you know how happy I am if I don't use them?!

Spoiled Latina Day is all about empowering women to become whoever they want to be, being prideful, taking self care serious and spreading positivity. It is a day that I created after receiving a proclamation in my honor back in 2015 and my own way of giving back to the city of Houston for the amazing opportunities this city has offered and I took without looking back! The Houston Chronicle did a recap of SLDAY that you should check out... its such a great article that I am beyond grateful for.

Becky G - the global superstar was the Keynote Honoree & Speaker this year. Her wise, words of wisdom were graciously received by the more than 250 women who were in attendance. Click the video below to watch the recap and the entire conversation with Becky G and head over to Spoiled Latina Day to view more pictures!

William Levy sits down with Spoiled Latina and talks movies, family and....

Today is the release of the new movie by multi talented movie actor, producer and entrepreneur William Levy. En Brazos De Un Asesino.  Victor (William Levy) has a deep secret – he is a cold-blooded assassin. Smooth talking and seductive, Victor was raised to do one thing only, which is to kill for money. When he is sent to the home of a brutal drug lord to collect payment for his most recent hit, he encounters the beautiful Sarai (Alicia Sanz), who has been forced to spend the last 9 years of her life with the drug lord. After Victor leaves the compound, Sarai seizes her chance at freedom by hiding out in Victor’s car. But things don’t go as planned and instead of being transported back to her home, she finds herself free from one dangerous man only to be caught in the clutches of another. While on the run from the vengeful drug lord and his brutal henchmen, Victor’s conscience catches up with him as he risks all that he stood for to protect his captive. In the end, the power Sarai unknowingly holds over Victor and their undeniable attraction may be what places
her right in the arms of a killer.

Pretty in Pink - OOTD

There is something about the color pink that makes me smile. Its my absolute favorite color. So when I visited the Marshall's store in Miami looking for a bathing suit, somehow I managed to make it to the dress area (its the natural shopper in me) I found this dress. The dress was on sale, took it to the dressing room to try it on and it fit perfectly. I had to buy it. This was my second time wearing the dress, I paired it with a pair of low heels I purchased at Nordstrom and wanded my hair for a wavy look.

I had to film a segment with a local TV station and this made the perfect look. Never under estimate what you can find at Marshalls. It may be difficult when looking through the racks to find the right piece but with a good attitude and some time you'll find it or if you're lucky, it'll find you.

I love playing with the filters as you can tell.. lol

A day with JCPenney in Miami

A day with JCPenney in Miami
Hola Amores!

I spent all of last week in Miami at the Hispanicize conference.  You guys know I am a stylista and I like looking put together. Hispanicize is held in Miami, therefore I had to plan according to the weather and the "feel" of Miami. I'm a Texan girl and Texas girls know how to dress and I am Latina so whatever we wear, we wear it well!

I started planning my outfits a week prior and took photos of what I planned on taking. Unfortunately for both you and I, my phone completely shattered on Monday, the first day of the summit and I don't have those pictures to share. However, I recovered bought a new phone and life was great soon after. LOL!  I knew I needed conference outfits and I wanted to stay true to my personal style. Often times, when people travel we purchase things that normally we won't wear in our city and therefore the items are no use after. I used to do that, not anymore! Spoiled Latinas shop smart!

Speaking of shopping smart, I totally loved partnering with JCPenney  last week for Hispanicize and specifically for Tecla Awards. I was  I documented my day on snapchat (because I am a snapchat lover and I was nominated for best snapchat story teller at Tecla Awards) don't worry if you don't follow me on snapchat, you can view the story below.

We took a trip from Intercontinental hotel to the JCPenney at Dadeland Mall. It was me, Ydelays, and Monique from Curves and Chaos. Once we got there, we were treated to delicious fruit and mimosas and a room filled with the latest fashion trends for a fun night out and lots of clutches, handbags and accessories. I was loving it!

I really liked what the stylist had chosen for me, but I had to make my way to the cocktail and party dress section just to make sure I wasn't missing out on something that my eyes didn't see. And just as predicted, I had.  I spotted a navy mid drift top and a flowy with a flair lace skirt that immediately caught my attention. I searched the shoe section and chose a corral and nude sandal and combined it with a corral color clutch I found. It was the cutest outfit! Plus I am able to wear 3 of the 4 items I wore more than once.

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with JCPenney and DiMe Media. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Valentine Weekend Roundup

Happy Monday SpoiledOnes!

Most of us are relaxing at home, and off from work enjoying this President's Day. Anthony stayed home today and is spending time with his cousin that due to parenting schedules, they don't see each other too often.

The weekend was exciting for us. Saturday, we enjoyed the first part of our day at the Children's Museum of Houston. Curious George was in town and was offering photo opps with all the children and parents in celebration of his 75th Anniversary. What a wonderful way for the children to learn about one of their favorite characters by visiting him participating in all the fun activities that the museum offers. Later we made it out to Discovery Green to enjoy the rest of the beautiful Saturday weather. Anthony enjoyed The Trompos or the spinning tops that are presently downtown this fall - Los Trompos are interactive art installation by internationally-acclaimed Mexico City designers Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena.

5 Things You Should Know If You Plan On Dating a Woman About Her Bu$iness

5 Things You Should Know If You Plan On Dating a Woman About Her Bu$iness

As I've grown older, I have also gotten wiser. I am a woman about my business and so are lots of of my girlfriends and many of you reading this today. We work hard and make it happen on our own so when its time for love or dating we don't have time for the games.
If you are about to date a woman or if you are married and your wife has their sh*it together this is what you/men have to know.

  1. She wants you to call her - use the phone and no that doesn't mean texting. She wants to hear your voice, and you should want to hear hers too.
  2. She wants you to make plans - Be the man, and take charge of the "date night" and be specific...this means making plans prior to the "date, trip etc" so that she has time to prepare. Most of the time, we are the ones making decisions all day, it be nice for someone to decide for us for a change.
  3. If you are texting; respond in a timely manner - most people carry their phones 24/7 even to the potty, so their shouldn't be an excuse as to why you don't respond to a "Good Morning" text or "How is your day going?"
  4. She will tell it like it is - so don't expect her to sugar coat how she feels about you or anyone around you. She knows her opinion matters and if you are attempting a life with her, get used to it.
  5. She wants you to say what you're going to do and do it - She isn't a drill sergeant but woman get annoyed with people who say one thing and don't do it or do another. For the love of God, follow through with your word or be gone!

Ladies and gentlemen please chime in on the comments and let me know your thoughts...am I wrong?!

I was on TMZ (video)
Yesterday, I was a guest on TMZ giving my thoughts on the Janet Jackson/ Instagram issue. Basically, Janet is on tour and Janet doesn't want anyone taping any part of her show and sharing it on Instagram. Janet's attorneys have asked Instagram to delete user accounts who posted footage and users are upset because not only did they delete the video but they've also deleted their whole account where users are losing other memories besides the show.

Not cool! Anyway, watch what I say about it and the response from Harvey. Lol

A Privilege toast to Bun-B

Hennessy celebrated one of Hip Hop’s living legends, Bun-B with a Privilege Toast in his honor. It was my Privilege as the Hennessy Ambassador for Houston to host him along with his friends and family last night at Straits Restaurant.

Bun-B Day in the city of Houston was proclaimed by the Mayor back in August 30th of 2011 (I was actually there and blogged about it) so it was only fitting to celebrate the King of The Trill on his day.

The evening which consisted of Hennessy Privilege drinks (named - UGK, Trill OG and The Pimp C) and delicious food was perfect combination with a little over 50 people that were personally invited by Bun... to celebrate his extended list of accomplishments, his growth and from what most said and agreed to as “ A loyal Individual with an amazing personality”.
James Prince, Bun's manager Anzel Jennings and a few others stood up to give a speech which all were great stories and added to the moment.

Bun-B who is entering his 3rd year as Professor of Religion and HipHop at Rice University is partnering with the Houston Food Bank as the Hunger Action Spokesperson for the “Hunger Bites. Bite Back” campaign kicking off in September.

SpoiledLatina 7 year blog anniversary!
Please join me in celebrating my blogs 7 year anniversary at TOPSHOP Galleria.
I created my blog out of love for life, fashion, beauty and entertainment. It has been a beautiful journey of late nights on the computer to early mornings, meeting wonderful and interesting people to finding my niche and things to write about, to building unique and lasting relationships with many brands. Although, it seems I'm always celebrating someone I have never celebrated mine or my blog accomplishments; therefore it would make my heart happy if you joined me to toast this special occasion.

#ArribaYLejos Tide and Gain team up with Safe Kids Worldwide
My beautiful niece Melody and my son Anthony
I am collaborating with Tide and Gain to bring you tips on how to keep your home safe for our little loving creatures.  It is summer time and kids are not at school which means they are trying to get into anything they can get their hands on.  Young children are explorers often by touch and at times they want to taste and put things in their mouths. My son is one of those explorers, so I am glad that Safe Kids Worldwide, Tide and Gain have teamed up to teach parents about keeping kids safe around laundry packets.

With liquid laundry packets gaining popularity, now used by 20 percent of U.S. households (including ours), parents need to be aware of this emerging risk for children.
Did you know that between 2012 and 2013, more than 700 children who were 5 and under experienced serious effects as a result of liquid laundry packets, with the impact greatest among 1 and 2 year olds?
In fact, the poison centers received more than 33,000 calls from 2012 through May 2015.

Parents we must do better!

As parents who want to keep the house clean and organized, we must be aware of where we store our hazardous cleaning products. If children get into laundry packets, the health risk can be significant. These powerful packets contain highly concentrated detergent that may cause loss of vision, severe eye burns, difficulty breathing, excessive vomiting...all in all not something we want our children to experience.

Helpful Tips:

  • Whatever you do with your cleaning supplies, make sure that you keep them Arriba y Lejos -up and away from our little people and even our puppies.  High and up behind a locked door.  Don't keep them on the ground close to make it easier on you.
  • Lock Laundry rooms - they often get forgotten about, because we think "it's the laundry room, the kids won't come in and play in here". Well, lets think about this again, it's summer time and lets say they want to play hide and go seek in the house...a good place to hide is the laundry room and if your child is anything like mine. He wants to discover new things and may find that the liquid laundry packets looks cool and smooshy, just never know what they will do with it.
  • Keep packets in their original container and keep them closed
  • IF a children gets into them, call the Poison Help Number immediately, 1800-222-1222

All opinions expressed are my own. Thanks to Tide PODS & Gain Flings for sponsoring this post.
