Disney's 1st Latina princess Elena of Avalor

Disney's 1st Latina princess Elena of Avalor
It is no wonder Latinos are the major minority; we have big spending power and our influence is growing. With that being said I'm glad Disney took notice and created its first Latina princess

 Elena of Avalor

love the red dress and big hoops
Elena will star in her own TV show airing on Disney Junior in 2016; but will be meet her on an upcoming episode of Sophia The First.

What Disney has shared about Elena is that she is a confident and compassionate 16 year old , she has a little sister named Princess Isabel, her grandfather Tito, and her grandmother Cici. (where is her mother?) She also has a best friend named Mateo and while trying to save her family from Shuriki, Elena was pulled into her own magical amulet.  Princess Sofia is wearing the amulet now will restore Elena to her human form and helps her return to Avalor. Too cute!

I love the fact that she is also voiced by a Latina actress Aimee Carrero who is on ABC Family’s Young & Hungry. She is Dominican and raised in Miami.

Looking forward to meeting Elena of Avalor soon!

Festival People [recap] Disney Love

Friday, September 5, 2014

If you have been following me on Instagram and Twitter you probably noticed I attended the festivities in San Antonio, that being Festival People. I was fortunate to connect with my Cricket Nation family who sponsored by travels in exchange for social media engagement and being that I am a Cricket Advocate that gave me and the people I connected with
"Something to Smile About"! All opinions about the festival and Cricket are my own.

So, this is the 3rd time the People en EspaƱol Festival has been held in San Antonio, and it was my first time attending so I was really excited to get on the road and on with the festivities.

I arrived in sunny San Antonio, where my Cricket phone service worked like a charm! We stayed the Grand Hyatt which is the white building. The parking was underground, and I was surprised that my phone had service while 2 levels below ground.

Disney #PowerOfDoingGood Tour

Disney #PowerOfDoingGood Tour

Life of a busy SpoiledOne has caused a gap in my posting but I really wanted to share what Anthony and I did today. Normally, I wouldn't allow for AC (my son) to skip school but the  Disney #powerofdoinggood tour made a stop in Houston and I knew he would enjoy it. We hit the road and made the long drive to enjoy our day.

Despite the drastic heat, AC and I had a wonderful time. We walked into the park greeted with a yellow tote bag and a water bottle. The bottle was used for us to hydrate ourselves with while in the park, it helped that Disney had water machines out for us to fill the bottles. We walked through several "adventures" from helping Jake read a book, to learning how to recycle, caring for the animals and promising to be good by making promise locks. We finally made our way to the stage area where Sophia and Jake would entertain the children.

Anthony was excited to be there, the only thing he says was missing was a HUG from Sophia and Jake. :)

He had a great time, thanks for making the stop in Houston, Disney!
